    Shane Guthrie

I see that Shamrock Rovers signed Shane Guthrie from Cork on a loan. He is a grest Defender and played with Kilkenny last year as well. We need cover at the moment why are we missing out on these players ?

NOC needs to get his act together before it's too late and we end the season once again in mid table

Class player...He must be pushing to make that Cork side. Dan Murray is poor...Still, if we don't need the likes of Paul Finnucane, then we hardly need Shane Guthrie.

Agree with you John that we should be targeting these players. But Guthrie played with Scully at Kilkenny last season so I presume this is a personal contact. By the way, where are Rovers getting the money? They have some size squad at this stage and I feel they are really gambling on a return to the premier.

NOC seems to have lost his contacts at Cork City....

Guthrie seems to have the talent alright but was at fault for their goal but then made up for it.

We have a strict budget for this season and it is being stuck to. Remember we have released players like Shields and Prenderville and Guthrie, McCarthy and Mark O'Brien are on loan which means we pay only a small percentage of their wages.

Our squad is the strongest and this is the reason we should win the league.
