Waterford United have announced the signing of former Everton player Paul Hopkins.
Hopkins joins the Blues having been released by David Moyes earlier this summer.
The 19-year-old Liverpudlian has played at Liverpool where he smashed Robbie Fowler's schoolboy scoring record of three hat-tricks in a row by knocking in six hat-tricks on the bounce before he left to move across Stanley Park.
He failed to make an impact at Goodison and moved on loan to Darlington before signing for Waterford this weekend.
He has also been capped by England under 18, 19 and 20 levels.
'I am happy that Paul chose to come to Waterford,' said Mike Kerley in welcoming Paul to the club.
'Paul is a proven talent and I hope he can find his scoring boots with Waterford. We are hoping that his international transfer comes through quickly and if that happens he will go straight into the squad for Monday's game against Shelbourne.'
If international clearance comes through in time, he will go straight into the squad for Monday's game against Shelbourne.
