Dublin City to cease trading....

I see Dublin City finally went under, feel sorry for their fans, but it does mean that the 2-0 loss we suffered at the Carlisle is wiped from the records. Also Longford look set to drop 6 points as a result, UCD and Bohs drop points also.
Anybody hear what this means for relegation in the Premier division (if there is any)?

All matches against them have been wiped from the records, we will stay the very same. Any team that drawn or won against them will have the results banished, hence why Drogheda have gone back to the top of the table.

Sound sharsh after whats happened them but we should be looking to try and pick up some of there better playersm, who are actually very good players - Mark Rooney, Ben Whelehan, David Freeman, Keith Doyle, Mick O'Donnell, Gary Rogers and Damien Brennan. They have some very handy U21 players as well.

It might seem harsh, but I bet the (ex) Dublin City players would welcome it!

Hopefully the club will move in for some of the Dublin city players. We need a left back and Keith Doyle played for us before and could do a job there. Also we need a centre half, centre midfielder and striker.

Following Dublin City's withdrawal from the eircom League the Premier Division table was completely revised after the Vikings' results were wiped out.
Shelbourne are amongst the biggest losers as they drop six points having beaten Dublin twice. Cork City too drop six points while Drogheda and Derry are not as badly hit after slipping up against the Vikings in the league this year.

Derry only drop three points while the Drogs lose four. UCD, Bray and Waterford are the only clubs not to lose any points after they lost their league games against the departed club.
Sligo Rovers and Longford Town lose four points each with Bohemians and St. Pats dropping three having played the Vikings only once.

Killester United will be waiting to see what happens in the FAI Cup with the non-league team drawn to play them in the third round of Ireland's premier cup competition. It remains to be seen what happens but Monaghan United could get back into the competition having gone out to Dublin in round two. Another option would be to hand Killester a bye into the quarter-finals.
