I was looking forward to heading back to Sligo for this game at the weekend and probably now won't get to see Cork playing Sligo this year as it will be more than likely a mid week game.
looking forward to the shels game now... but its 10 days away...
8 actually...

im with gustavo on this one.i can't believe how petty some of you are. cork city are playing in the champions league qualifiers, representing our country and our league. the least we can do is get behind them and give them the best chance possible to progress.and don't give me this sh!t about arsenal, chelsea etc.they are at a completely different level to cork and can play weekends and midweek because their second teams are capable of cruising through champions league games.if and when cork get to that level then fair enough we can expect them to play twice a week but we have to be realistic about it.the only way we will ever get to that level is by helping our teams as much as possible.ye wouldn't have even mentioned this if they weren't playing us and if it was us in europe i can guarantee ye are the very ones that would be calling for the league game to be rescheduled.and as for supporting corks opposition that is plain stupidity.
shockinly enough so do we......and its in the interests of out club and the leagues co efficient that we dont play a game every three days on top of travelling and trying to deal with conditions abroad. Im sure youd be the same if it were SligoOriginally Posted by Rogue Trader

Murphy and Gamble are banned for the next game, O'Callaghan still rowing with Rico so likely to be out and O'Flynn is also a doubt. With that, Cork haven't a hope so they should turn and focus on their domestic games now, ie. playing us on Saturday!.

Theyre very touchy about it
apparently the other name is just the Serbian translation of Red star and has always been their name......but then Irish media dont bother with research
Are you absolutely certain no other league lets games be postponed when they have a game the following wednesday?? Or are you just basing it on the premiership?Originally Posted by Rogue Trader
Ye're hardly paying a penalty, if yer good enough yel beat us when the game is played. You just want the advantage of playing us when we are jet lagged and have a big game the next week.
Derry and Drogs have their game postponed despite the fact that they only play Uefa games every second week not every week as we have to.
Your club were nice enough to agree to the postponement as they know this is important for the league. Ive always seen Sligo as a progressive club and fully expect ye to be challenging for Eurpean places soon enough. Ye will be glad of the postponment ten if it helps the co-efficient so that ye are seeded.
Probably forced into it cos I know our manager definitely didn't want it postponed!Originally Posted by micls

In fairness, the FAI probably wanted the game postponed. If Rovers refused then that would look bad come the end of the season when teams are been picked for "the Premiership" so we probably had to agree.Originally Posted by micls
