They'll have to say that they went down largely because of their own fault instead.

Well, it looks like they'll hold their own in the Premier this season cos Waterford and Bray are so poor. The only way they'll be relegated is because of the new re-structuring of the 'premiership', which will screw them over because they're a franchise. How's that their own fault??

Count your blessings you're home to Athlone this weekend. That should be the cure for your dose of "Rovers Flu".

You got fried by the Athlone fish now. I think we'll have to do a spot check soon on the quality of Limerick fish.

I've every respect for fans of any club in the league who go to games but if Limerick can't get more than 400 at home while league leaders then they don't deserve to be in a premier division

See your point but if Limerick had a decent ground they would get decent crowds. You cant blame anyone down there for not going to Rathbane. I wouldnt have them in the premier because of the ground.

And to be fair, the ground is the main stumbling block regarding attendances, and unfortunately its reputation is getting worse and worse.

All true. So is there any talk about going back to the Market's Field? Because there's no future for Rathbane.

Would you not have a better chance of playing in the other division if you played there instead?

as far as i remember, the fact that Jackman park has only one exit makes it ineligible for LOI football.

Might be wrong, or that might not be valid any longer.

Jackman Park would need some amount of devolping in order for it to be considered for an Eircom Superleague (or whatever they're gonna call it) ground next season. At the moment it looks like a cross between knacker's yard and Lebanon, a bit like St.Mel's so.

But I agree that the club need to have a ground that is in the city centre for it to thrive. I'm from the Jackman Park area and know quite a lot of people from there that would go up to watch the games if they were played in the Jacks. At the moment the transport system from the city to Rathbane is too muddled, not to mention the unwarranted bad name the place has been getting off of anyone who has never lived there, so people won't go. Snd as has been said on this board before, if Limerick FC are to thrive than it's initial ground support will come from the city centre itself. The Limerick people from the suburbs and the county tend to attach themselves to already moving bandwagons (ala Munster Rugby)and wouldn't be interested in the club until we are challenge from the Premier league ttile, and/or the FAI cup
