    I can't believe you left out the south koreans. They had thousands of fans in the stadiums for each game. They were by far the best supporters and one of the most numerous , i'd go so far as to say the most numerous non-european support. loads of non-brazilians were supporting brazil from what i saw
    Was he crazy!! Yeah , in a very special way , an Irishman.
    I slept, and dreamed that life was Beauty;
    I woke, and found that life was Duty.

    Ok the reason why English, Scottish and Irish fans go in very large numbers to major tournaments is simple. For 10 months of the year our weather is so wet and miserable we cannot wait to get away from here !

    The Mexicans mainly travelled from the U.S. as far as I could tell. Met a lot of them but didn't get to see them play. Thousands more locked out and in the fanfests than those at the games. They had good enough support in Japan but there was no problem getting a ticket for Mexico v Ecuador at face value.

    The Australian support was pretty good too.

    They reckon England had 100,000 fans in Germany for each game. I think we'd have been close to that if not matched it.

    I actually thought our support there was quite low too compared to Scotland and even Northern Ireland. I suppose we had qualified for 3 of the last 4 so there was no novelty value in having a world cup nearby. The trip to Stuttgart in September probably stopped people going as well.

    Because it's the World Cup. Biggest football tournament of the lot. Lots of fans there from countries that didn't qualify.

    appreciate none of the games came even close to that draw with Egypt in Palermo but still a great experience.
