    Getting a video from DVD to youtube

    I recorded the Rovers-UCD match on a DVD recorder and want to edit it and put it on youtube. The file plays on the computer fine but I can't transfer it to my hard drive and I can't open it with Windows Movie Maker either. I can't seem to find the file in windows explorer either. Anyone know how to solve the problem?
