Price of tickets for the Euro 08 Qualifiers in Croke Park

GERMANY
I believe the tickets for the Stuttgart game range from �25 to �65, not including the delivery charge.
CYPRUS
Last years game in Cyprus, the CFA charged I think �27, I heard that this year they want to charge �55. They are taking the MICHAEL.
HOME GAMES
I wonder if the FAI are going to add an inflationary increase to the homes games?

I paid �20 Cypriot last year I think - close on E40. But still a ludicrous increase. Something like �7 (E14) into the U-21s game too!

You can get tickets for the German game for E24 - I was given a choice of E24, E27 and E35. Haven't heard of anything higher, but stand to be corrected there obviously.

Don't know if the FAI will up prices too much, especially once we get into Croker - more supply which should keep prices down, and the FAI are happy anyway as they get more money.

RTE has learned that top tickets at rugby internationals in Croke Park will cost over �1,000.

When Ireland play France and England next February, the IRFU will charge �850 plus VAT per person in a corporate box, resulting in a cost of more than �1,000 per person.

With almost 2,000 seats at this level the IRFU can earn almost �2 million just from the corporate boxes alone.

That sum alone will cover the reported rental cost to the GAA of �1.5 million per match.

That still leaves the IRFU with another 75,000 tickets to sell including almost 9,000 in the exclusive Premium Level selling at �110.

Ordinary stand tickets will cost �80.

Under an agreement with Croke Park Stadium Ltd, the existing box holders will be given first refusal at a cheaper price. They can attend for �750 plus VAT, a cost of over �900 per person.

The FAI has told RTE that corporate box tickets will be under �400 per person.

Tickets will be sold as a bundle. Therefore to take a box for the high demand game against Germany, you will also have to take it for the game against Cyprus.

The game with Wales will be bundled with the match against Slovakia.

Premium level tickets for soccer internationals are expected to cost �85, with stand tickets priced at �50 and �70.
An IRFU spokesman said the difference in price merely reflects the different markets involved.

To be charged �50 or �70 for a stand ticket, is brutal. The most you'd pay for an All-Ireland final ticket is �60. And there is real demand for those!

Can't believe they'll charge �70 into a stand, shocking.

I would have thought that existing corporate box holders would automatically get to these games as they have paid for it already in their yearly/whatever fees for the box?

€50 = GB�30 (roughly) so its no more than you'd pay for premiership games (and again they don't get charged €1.5 million to play a home game)

The deal with corporate is that existing owners of the boxes have first choice but they dont get the tickets as part of their package. Its the same with concerts.

lads, they can make nearly 3/4 of that that back in the corporate boxes, as can be seen by the irfu point, though ye all failed to notice that accidentally on purpose. so if there are 2000 corporate boxes, and 70 - 75,000 places for the average supporter, i think they can charge less than 50 euro. its just the fai uping the prices and using the rental price being charged by GAA HQ as a scapegoat for this.

oh ya, and any of hte bigger games in the premiersihp cost AT LEAST �45.

fulham was the only match around the 30 mark that i remember getting a ticket for. so its way cheaper than the premiership.

In croke park, GAA charge �60 per seat for All Irelands ( and this will probably go up this year), no matter where you sit, middle of stand on halfway line or behind the goal in canal end.

So if the FAI are going to grade seats, fair enough

where did i say it was an unfair price?!?!?! NO WHERE

i actually think its a decent price, to use and sit in a world class stadium with world class facilities. I never bashed the FAI, i was simply making the point to the above posters woh were trying to use the GAA as scapegoats.

Oh and th €1.5 mill is only the rent on the place, of course there'll be other costs associated with the games. I Don't see anything wrong with the prices myself

No problem with the ticket prices in general BUT i hope they will have a family enclosure with kids tickets for between �5 and �10. Having had to pay full price for 2 kids for years, its beyond the reach of a lot of people and while mine are now almost adults anyway I just feel that it would be a good move.

Dodge, for someone who doesnt go to gaelic matches that might be obvious, but those of us who have an interest in (sport)everything irish, I hadnt a clue FFS. isnt it great how we can both use FFS and sound all knowning FFS, FFS. get the point.

I was at the all ireland quarter finals last year in croker. oh and ya ive been to manys an all ireland qualifier as well FFS. So FFS it isnt that obvious to me FFS.
