while discussing the prices the irfu intend to charge into the rugby matches in croke park, they followed it on by saying the fai intend to charge €60 and €80 for all standard seats in croker for the eurp qualifiers...
ouch..... crazy prices.....(especially with some of the views being up in the sky..)

ya that is what i was getting at, i was fairly confident you didnt go to matches, and i was trying to point out that I didnt know whether he meant all matches in the championship or whether he meant the all ireland final or the final and semi finals....but as i said i forgive you so we can leave it at that

Sorry for not putting in the word "finals" Paul, but I don't believe that a gaa-goer like yourself wouldn't understand that when I said "all irelands" , I meant finals.Originally Posted by paul_oshea

nedder my point was that loads of stages of the championship are "all irelands", i wasnt trying to be smart i honestly didnt know what you meant.![]()

no hassle Paul,
anyway getting back to the price of tickets....
reckon €70 for centre of pitch would be ok, if tickets got cheaper as you went to corners and cheaper still behind the goal. And cheaper for canal end lower than canal end higher.
Reckon the prices are fair enough tbh. The FAI, like the IRFU, have to maximise income from the profitable games. The only unfortunate thing with the FAI taking this route is their brutal use of funds compared to the IRFU, and no doubt the international player pool will be looking for a big increase in their slice too (but probably no thread about that).
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
particularly the higher ends, ye can see fcuk all from upper tier in the hogan and cusack , i cant imagine what upper tier canal is like!!!!And cheaper for canal end lower than canal end higher.
thank god ive never had to watch a hurling game from that height....
macy elaborate on your final point will ye?

Rather be in the upper deck than in the front row of the lower canal, you can see f*** all from there!!
[QUOTE=nedder]Upper tier of the Cusack might as well watch it in Quinns pub youll get a better view, (and be closer) been there once and saw nothing, Lower canal is not too bad, upper canal is excellent, never been in Hogan since the redevelopment and well the Hill is for the visitors!Originally Posted by paul_oshea
In all fairness anyone that takes even a passing interest in Irish sport knows that when referring to THE all-ireland, it means THE final and not qualifiers etc.Dodge, for someone who doesnt go to gaelic matches that might be obvious, but those of us who have an interest in (sport)everything irish, I hadnt a clue FFS. isnt it great how we can both use FFS and sound all knowning FFS, FFS. get the point.
I was at the all ireland quarter finals last year in croker. oh and ya ive been to manys an all ireland qualifier as well FFS. So FFS it isnt that obvious to me FFS.
Anyway Paul, how do ya think THE connacht will go on Sunday?
"Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy which sustained him through temporary periods of joy."
the star is saying that tickets will cost between €60 and €70 per game. They can shove them.
Looks like the football games will be a lot cheaper than the rugby games but still quite high. The corporate box prices at less than half of their rugby equivalent is a bit much. Think they should be much higher as they'll sellout anyway and price is pretty irrelevant in that sector.
There should be some reasonably priced seats too for the blockbookers from the north and south terraces however I'm not that there will be.
from what i can understand the price quoted by the IRFU for a corporate box seat was a 2 match price, whereas the FAI price was a single match but they still are grouped into 2 match packages, ie Wales and Slovakia or Germany and Cyprus. This leaves the fai price pretty close to the irfu.Originally Posted by gspain
I would agree with tiered pricing for the ground but doubt if the fai will do it as they will sell out the ground regardless for the first few games.
As regards the Cyprus away game I hope the FAI charge the Cyoriot visitors €150 a ticket as they are charging us about 3 times the price of a home ticket. Last time that happend was in Malta if i remember right, they increased prices from £5 to £20 for the irish game.
re: your previous comment, i already explained myself and wont be again.Anyway Paul, how do ya think THE connacht will go on Sunday?
i dont really care who wins(im from roscommon), if galway perform to the level they did against the ros then they will be beaten, but if they perform to a level they are capabe of then they will win, plus bergin is back and mayo have no midfield.
BTW, how much are we being charged for the cyprus game. sly cnuts know that we will bring a big gathering. do uefa not have some sorta ban on this sorta thing or something?!?!

Were you on Hill? Tickets there are only €20 - €25 but stand tickets would be €40 and at least €60 for All ireland final so I'd say €50-€70 would be reasonable enoughOriginally Posted by paul_oshea

They had about 200 home fans for the game last October but it will be higher this time as Greece won't have a vital qualifier head to head with the game.
Used to happen all the time behind the old Iron Curtin. Poland away in 91 were £10 and 70p respectively if I remember correctly. The Poles were buying tickets for the Irish at a small premium. Hungary 89 was something similiar but you were allowed to buy home tickets there.
wasnt it the same in the stadium of water, lisbon in 95, our tickets were twice the price of the locals, mind you we never event went through stiles that night, just swam in!!
hi do you know where or how i can get tickets for the chec game this october,i live near norwich and am out of touch thanks gerard
Does anybody know where the EL fans will be put?
