    can city keep it up

was last's friday a flash in the pan or does it offer a glimpse as to what to could be really acheived?

moreover I was struck by how aggressive city were. they were so pumped up it was amazing. i was sitting near ollie byrne and once agian he was going mad. heh heh heh!!!!!!

the ucd game offers us a different kind of test as they are a team we are expected to beat but rarely do

Great result & eventhough shel$ were poor we still beat the favourites for the league.

Best to reserve judgement on city for 4-5 games to see how we do against teams we should beat as well as bogey teams like UCD.

Hard to say after one game. Will have to wait and see. UCD were no pushovers at Dalymount and were the better team for spells. IF City get a result, considering it is UCD, then it would be another good indicator.

Was up in Belfield at the end of May and Im almost certain that I saw the team (deff Dolo + a squad that included a giant ala Delaney) in pre-season training. That would strike me as being way before City were doing that and their performance V Bohs (especially seeing that they were whooped 6-1 last year) would seam that they will be well prepaired.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

    shels form

Date Opposition H/A F-A Comp. Position Scorers
    Sat 15 Jun Dublin City A 1-0 F Molloy
Wed 19 Jun Monaghan Utd 1-1 F Crawford
Fri 21 Jun Kildare County 4-1 F Molloy (2 pens), R Baker, Stuart Byrne
    Mon 24 Jun Athlone Town A 0-0 F
    Thu 27 Jun Ashtown Villa A 4-1 F Geoghegan(2), Prenderville(2)
    Sat 29 Jun Dundalk A 1-1 F Prenderville
Fri 5 Jul Cork City A 0-3 PREM
    Sat 6 Jul Glasgow Celtic H 1-4 F Geoghegan

I only saw $hel$ had already played all those warm up games so maybe puts citys performance in perspective?

Shel$ should have been fitter than us but also not been in good form.

Fúck's sake Troy, Doolin hasn't put on that much weight . UCD looked much better on Friday than the corresponding game (6-0 BTW ) last year. We looked decent going forward (esp. Robbie Doyle) but a bit frail at the back. We had much more of the play this year (compared to none last year!) and looked pretty good with the ball.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
