excellent news...well done mc t....
Sligo Rovers striker Paul McTiernan is the eircom/Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Player of the Month for June.
The Ballyfarnon native started the month by helping Sligo to a 3-1 win over Longford Town and hit a double as the 'Bit O'Red' grabbed their first away win of the season beating Bohemians 2-0 immediately after the summer break.
McTiernan was again on the scoresheet again as he hit two goals in a 3-1 win over Derry, but even his sharp skills could not help Sligo from falling to a 3-1 defeat to St Patrick's Athletic at the end of the month.
McTiernan has now scored five goals in the eircom Premier Division.

Fair play. Well done Paul.
clap clap clap !!! WELL DONE PAUL!
Well done Paul! delited for him! hope the injury isnt bad!
heard he should be ok in a few days, nothing major
he has twisted his ligaments and will have it assessed in a few days
sounds nasty
he had this problem a few times in recent years! it's always at him!
Fair play to Paul. I have to be completely honest. I have great time for Paul and really liked him but I didnt think he would be up to the premier divison. I thought he would be outplayed . However I have to say that I am delighted to be proved wrong. He has given everything (as always) but he has also shown that he can take on the best of them and still score and score well. Fair play to him. I am absolutely delighted for him and as I said already delighted to be proven wrong.
btw Who is the top scorer in the premier division at the minute?
I wouldnt get too excited just yet Paul has only scored in 3 games out of 15 but yes I would agree he is definetely heading in the right directionOriginally Posted by HomeBrewPlease
Jason Byrne's the top scorer with 9
Still he been the highlight of the season IMO!Originally Posted by gustavo
has he??! not for me!
He has been brilliant. Two people that i know who thought he was over rated last season and thought he wouldnt be up to the level of Premier League football, have both admitted they were proven wrong....speaks volumes really.
He is the hardest working forward in the league...FACT
