July 16th 06 | Three more additions to Longford squad
Longford Town have completed the signing of three more players this week - two forward from a US college and a goalkeeper, who comes in as cover for Alan Mathews' injury-hit squad.
With Town striker Dave Mooney expected to be out of action for up to six weeks, both Ian Wexler and Eoin Lynch have signed for Longford Town from US college side Providence College. Both are capable of playing either in attack or in midfield and should be excellent additions to the squad.
With Shay Kelly also out injured - likely to be up to four weeks - Longford have signed former Monaghan and Dublin City goalkeeper Paul Flood until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Longford Town's home game against Drogheda United has been put back 24 hours. Owing to Drogheda's involvement in the UEFA Cup, the match, originally scheduled for Flancare Park on Saturday July 29, has been rescheduled to take place at 5.30pm on Sunday July 30.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
