    John Paul Kelly, shaming young player.

    He's probably going to sign for Lillestrom in Norway in the next few weeks!

    a ******* franchise of a club. they are a one man operation. joke of a club

    The ref was quite bad. He seems to have no primacy (hope this is the good word) over the players.
    "authority" is the word you want to use here.
    and the referees in the eircom league are so bad its incredible.

    peil = football
    caid = strictly speaking is a word to describe only gaelic football,not confusable with peil or sacar
    sacar= sacar
    though your point is taken about a lack of any acceptable word

    Yeah, "authority" was the word I was looking for. That was what that ref hadn't.

    Caid was a different game to gaa I thought, an old traditional Irish game similar to rugby.

    Correct. And it is alleged , in Ed Van Esbeck's history of the IRFU,that William Webb Ellis was visiting relations in Tipperary while on school holidays from Rugby and saw Caid being played which is where he got the idea for picking up the ball and running with it.
    Therefore, if Mr. Van Esbeck's assertion is correct, rugby is an Irish game , and a lot more Irish than Gaelic football .
