Anyway, I believe this matter will find it's way to the Equality Commission in the near future.

Whilst they're sorting this crap out, they may want to consider if sports played traditionally on a Sunday discriminate against fundamentalists.

it sets no precedent.
its not a law,its merely an ifa rule that bans sunday football. so derry playing league of ireland on sundays is irrelevant, it sets no precedent for anyone in the ifa/ni

Eh where is that then? I was born in the Republic of Ireland since 1949 so I don't know where that is. Oh and I don't pay my taxes to support Betty Windsor either

You may be surprised to know that Derry City were involved in that recent moves to remove the IFA ban on Sunday football.

A few years back Derry City were due to host Cliftonville in a friendly. The game was scheduled for a Sunday. The IFA blocked the game because it still fell within their jurisdiction. Following that the Members of Cliftonville brought a proposal to their next AGM that Cliftonville would raise this at the IFA every year until the rule was revoked.

Nearly but not quite as you know from my wrath on ILF after a previous IFA AGM.. While for example like this season the proposal may not have come directly from Cliftonville, the club were aware that it would be on the agenda therefore replica motions were not required.

I thought I recalled something from ILF but was genuinely not sure which was why I asked.
