i dont think we will beat them....
Considering we're in fifth now after Pat's embarassing defeat at home to Bohs, what's the odd's on Pat's to finish in top 6Originally Posted by el punter

New odds:
Bohs 6/4 fav
Sligo 13/8
Longford 9/4
UCD 12/1
Don't understand that at all. I took the 7/4 on Bohs as well, I fail to see how we're now favourites. After Bray this Friday we have Shels next week, and as it is, Longford have a game in hand over us, with UCD to play at home on Saturday. Sligo and Pat's, the teams everyone else has to catch, have also played a game less.
The only explanation is that Bohs have been backed into that price, that no money has come for any of the other teams.
ONE CITY, ONE TEAM.
The thing about that is everyone who has a game/games in hand are against the top 4 teams in the league, so will be expected to lose.
Sligo would have to be favourites but I suppose Bohs reputation and people not putting money on them probably are the reasons for their short odds.
I think we are a good price there. Playing good football at the moment. Collected 10 out of the last 12 points available. No goals conceded. UCD, Pats and Sligo our next 3 games, 3 teams just above us. Get 7/9 points out of those games hopefully. I honestly believe we'll get 6th at least.
New odds. Becoming a joke:
Sligo 11/10
Bohs 2/1
Longford 11/4
UCD 9/1
Maybe Pats can't be put in because they weren't included originally?

if the business is offering the scabbiest prices possible on Irish games, than yeah, best in the business
In truth, virtually all bookmakers bet to roughly the same level of overround or theoretical profit on all games - they pretty much all price them to 111 - 112%. Therefore they are all as 'scabby' as the others.
If the teams you want to back are often the shortest price with any one bookmaker then it's safe to say that you and the bookie have a similar opinion on the game. It doesn't make the bookie scabby, just means he's paying attention.

UCD are only 4 points off 6th with all teams involved in the race for 6th having played an equal number of games except Longford. I don't think we'll make it, but odds of 9/1 seem a bit tempting.
if i had my own credit card i would have had a cupla hundred on rovers in july. ragin! couldn't believe the prices bohs were during the season
