I doubt it. If Aimar were to sign, it would mean he'd be filling the same role as Luis Garcia (albeit a step up in class). Benitez' main priority is a right winger so he can free up Gerrard for the attacking midfield role, the very role that Garcia plays when Gerrard has to operate on the right. So effectively, if Aimar signed it would surely see Garcia being sold. Can't see that happening unless they pull off a swop deal or a big money transfer back to Spain for Garcia. Aimar would be a luxury signing, something we cannot afford at the moment seeing that we need to sign a Right Winger, 2 Strikers, a left back and with a left winger and centre half already on the way......I'd love to see Aimar but it's probably just rumour.

If you believe the papers we'll be signing players in the positions above from this pool.....Lets hope there's truth in there somewhere

Valencia have made it clear that they want to sell Aimar although not at any price. Liverpool are mentioned immediately whenever a Valencia player is on the move (Pellegrino, Sissoko, Fabio Aurelio) and some even claim Benitez is after Villa. To be honest I can't see it happening, Benitez wasn't that big a fan of Aimar in Valencia and I don't think he'd be interested in taking him to England.

Agreed, and with Cisse's injury depriving Benitez of up to �8m in transfer funds, you can forget about Aimar (and maybe Kuyt) joining this summer. Liverpool are now probably looking at the cheaper alternatives unless they are guaranteed to sell Cisse in January. So you're looking at Pennant for the RM, Bellamy/Bent up front etc. Lets hope they find extra funds from somewhere, otherwise it's going to seriously mess things up.
