Domenech and Zindane - a warning from History

If anyone saw caught the look Zidane gave Domenech after being subbed at end of France V South Korean match, it was in a nutshell the French version of Keane and McCarthy after Holland match (without the a handshake).. Domenech a bit like Brian Kerr is from the Football School of thought that i will never understand "What we have, We hold"... Its the philosophy that cost us a place in what looks like a great tournament so far.. No Wonder Kerr is in Line for the India Job!!

Apart from the fact that he was passed over several weeks ago?

Zidane's suspended for the Togo game anyway. France could well be out by the time he returns from suspension too (though I still imagine they'll progress)

He looked a shadow of his former self anyway if you ask me.
One or two through passes showed sparks of the old Zizou but they'd be better off with a quick pair of legs when the going gets tough.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

    G.O'Mahoney Trapattoni'll sort ém out!!

Yeah Zidane should be dropped in my view and so should Wiltord.

It all depends what you have to bring in. Zidane operating at 60% is still better than most but he certainly was poor against South Korea.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

They have plenty to bring on. Even Zidane's passing was frequently poor, and he's about as mobile as a totem pole these days. He's in the team on reputation only. Frankly, I'm surprised. He looked far better than this against us, and neither Swizerland nor South Korea are much better than us.

I think the comparison with Keane after Holland is facile. Domenech is in deep trouble after a long spell of poor performances, not flying high after achieving a good result. Zidane is retiring and is himself underperforming, not still the key player for the team, as Keane was. There's no real potential for Zidane turning on his manager, and it's unlikely to be necessary to get him sacked. He's doing a fine job of it himself.
You can't spell failure without FAI
