Origins of Oggy Oggy Oggy Oi Oi Oi chant...

had a debate with an Aussie pal over their "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi" chant while watching Oz v Brazil last night. i reckon the original came from a seventies TV ad but he reckons its more to do with Coventry's City goalkeeper in the 80/90s Steve Ogrizovic. so where did it come from folks?

As always, wikipedia knows all... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oggy_Oggy_Oggy

Cornish folk songs aside, I'd go with Max Boyce as your answer for popularising the chant.
