Latest rumours are that they have been paid up (belatedly of course). I know it's besides your point.

Sniffer, I'd be angry to see my club buying titles on borrowed money and time. It's fundementally unfair. The fact that a club will justifiably meet later trouble does not make it ok, just as the punishment for a crime doesn't wipe out the previous crime, it should simply act as a deterrent. Shels fans seem to be utterly unrepentant about this.

atleast the tax bill was paid by shels. how much of a tax bill did Rovers not pay? So if there is 1 particular club that has had a massive unfair advantage on others in the league I would suggest it is rovers.

we paid what the revenue asked us to pay and are the only tax compliant team in the league. shels made a similar arrangement and fell into arrears. but thats not the point here. its the denial by most shels fans that there is any form of problem. did Rovers fans deny what was going on?

no-one has any issue with loyalty to a football club, its the loyalty to olly thats hard to fathom.

Shels are in serious debt and have hocked their ground to speculators in order to pay over-inflated wages and related debts.
Anyone who thinks that's the way a football club should be run is a fool.
    Or Tony Maguire.

    you missed the point
if a crook and lyer is running your club into the ground you organize your fanbase and get rid of him. we did,as have plenty of other clubs who have ran out their owners/directors etc.
yet shels fans sit idly by and do nothing, bar watch while their club edges closer to an abyss

for that you deserve no sympathy for your clubs possible/probable eventual demise

    an invalid point.
not to mention it completely ignores your problems. (nothing new for shels fans there)

Total BS. Rovers have been tax compliant for a few months and are lecturing all and sundry. Harps have been fully tax compliant for more than 5 years now, and several other clubs have their houses in order too. We pay all our tax on time, every time and were doing do when Rovers were running up huge debts that were never paid.

if were in a lot of debt we may not make it to the UEFA Cup group stages this season or make it into the new top priemership starting in 2007.

i hope Ollie gets it all sorted. The club needs stability. We also need a major financial backer

Don't be such a sycophant. He's the man who has brought you into this debt. Don't doubt for one second you won't take your place in the new league as long as you still exist. Ollie is one of the major drivers behind it.

I think shels shud try abd take the approach derry did a few years ago and try get a couple of high profile friendlies and get the fans out. This went a long way to clearing our debts along with of course collections at grounds and draws and competitions with all money ploughed into the club. We done this and look at us now. Good team, great fans, superb manager and hopefully a sparkling new stadium to look forward to. The future is bright, its red & white!!

I think Derry woes were miniscule compared to the current threat Shels face.

We have a friendly against Livingston in July! Surely that will clear our debts! They have world class players that people will come from far away to see. Harold Pinxten and Jason Dair are world beaters. And do't even start me on Noel Whelan!! Ok, he's a junkie and an alco but he played for Leeds and Boro! The fans will come in their droves to see him fall over coming out of the New Stand! Good times ahead
