    U21s vs Kildare

The U21s started their campaign this weekend with a 1-0 win over Kildare U21s in a friendly here in Galway. Kildare were down for the weekend and also drew
0-0 with Mervue United in a friendly.

There are 8 teams in our section of the U21 League :

    GUFC
    Salthill Devon
    Ballinasloe Town
    Athlone Town
    Longford Town
    Mullingar Athletic
    Kildare County
    Mayo League

If I get anymore info. re scorers, team etc, I will post here.

A good start for new manager Dessie Cawley.

    Great result for the lads.
However what would be of more interest to us is the fact Kildare appear to be abysmal. They are definitely the worst team i've seen to date in this league(monaghan might have something to say about that) but to come down and not beat either junior side.
Can't wait till we play them again!

we will be good enough, IMO, to make it to the latter stages this year. Will hopefully catch a few of there matches this season. With Salthill in the competition again this year where will our U21 team be playing there home matches since they were using the drom for the past one or two?

Last weekends game was scheduled for Drom, so perhaps last years arrangement may continue.
