Very little news on the development over the last few weeks. Will see what the up to date position is and let you know later in the week.
I ment to post this earlier, but I was reading in the GUFC v Rovers prgram that we have " a ground that looks set to gain a new 1,500 seated stand within a matter of months". Can anyone give more info? has a date been set for the start of construction? Have they released a graphical image of what it will look like when completed? Will it be just the seating area that will be constructed first or will the dressing rooms underneath be completed too?
I have a load more question to ask, but getting those answered first would be great!

are gone back to Galway Corpo about a month ago if not longer so if there is no objections the Planning permission should be through in mid july. The stand will take 18 weeks to construct after the commencement date so the stand will be up by the end of the year as anticipated.
The area underneath the stand will not be developed until more grant monies come through as it is the cost of Building the stand and relocating the floodlight is considerably larger than the money the Terryland Development Company have (approx €600K). This was all set out months ago on the original post about the new stand.
As for graphic illustrations i want to see the thing built rather than more plans.
is for just 1 person to object and that could delay it even more, there shouldnt be any objections though.the galway city outer by-pass road is an example im thinking of when 1 person objects, arrrggghhh.
btw, gufct:meant to ask you,i seen at the rovers game a woman get hit by a football at the front of the stand and this guy was giving you a right ear full, finger pointing for added affect too,i know you cant go into details but why was he eating your head off?i mean was he blaming you for that or was it about something else??you seemed to take it with great patience anyway.
Two examples of the new improved litigious Ireland !
after his Partner had suffered concussion and felt we were slow in dealing with it. We actually acted the minute we were informed but it did take about 2 minutes for the red cross to get there.
Patience is whats needed when your looking after 250 Rovers supporters a few of our own would be heroes. We were very stretched on the night and need more volunteers to spread the workload.
Well as a home official said outside the ground "Lads you're a manna from heaven" so better having an away support than having none methinks. Wasnt much need for stewards when there's plainclothes cops around![]()

There will be loads of space, the stand will run the length of the pitch.
whats the story on an artist's impression of the new stand and when do they
hope construction will begin if all goes well with the planning app?

AFAIK projected start date is now September, providing city planners give go ahead,
There are detailed plans drawn up, but no artists impression. I'm told that the stand will be similar to Cork Citys main stand.

savage - terryland will be one of best compact grounds in the country when construction is completed, is it a two phase stand where it can enlarged in the future? is it true that we're getting all new shiney maroon seats for the old stand or did i just imagine that?
I got bored and made Fantasyland -- have a look... this is what Terryland would be like if I won the EuroMillions

I can tell you that planning permission is being sought at the moment and we'll have a yes or no in three weeks. 'when' it comes back with the good news, phase one of the stand will be open by the start of new season - which includes simply the stand and seating for 1500. The stand in length will be just short of the pitch. Phase two includes, building of changing rooms, shops and the like under the stand and tranforming the old club house into a proper function room upstairs and offices downstairs.
