Limerick FC have appointed their goalkeeper Noel Mooney as their new Commercial Director. Mooney's appointment is aimed at boosting the off-field profile of the eircom First Division leaders.
The Cappamore native said: 'Limerick is a great sporting city and county and needs its hurling and football teams challenging for All-Ireland titles.'
The Blues are currently in talks with a number of companies regarding kit
sponsorship and once this is finalised, the new kit shall go to press.

What is he doing talking about attendances for the GAA? Surely he should be more concerned about Limerick FCs attendances??

he did only aertel couldnt spare Limerick a second page

He spoke about the marketability of other sports and how well they had done and how we in soccer have to do the same. Its a good appointment IMO

HIGH-flying Limerick FC have appointed regular netminder, Noel Mooney as their new Commercial Director.
Limerick FC are currently enjoyed a purple patch in form and are regarded as the most improved side in eircom League football this season following a string of excellent results.
The Hogan Park side are sitting pretty at the top of the First Division, five points clear of their nearest rivals.
And Limerick FC caused a major shock less than two weeks ago when dumping holders Drogheda United out of the FAI Cup.
The appointment of Cappamore man Mooney as Commercial Director is one in a series of initiatives aimed at increasing their profile of the club within Limerick county and city.

Twenty nine-year-old Mooney explained: "Limerick is a great sporting city and county. Limerick needs its hurling and football teams challenging for All-Ireland titles.
"It is great, for example, to see the progress that the Gaelic footballers have made in recent years, but it is time to bridge the gap and actually bring titles home to Shannonside.
"Munster rugby has just been a fantastic adventure for everyone in the province in general, and Limerick in particular.
"Now it is crucial that Limerick returns to the very top of Irish soccer."
While Limerick FC have already achieved notable on-field successes this season, Mooney's appointment is aimed at boosting their off-field profile.
Should Limerick manage to return to the Premier Division then the city and county's sporting public would turn out in large numbers to watch the likes of Cork City, Shelbourne, Bohemians and Derry City in action on a regular basis.
"It is a great time for the Club with a final decision on the ground lease at Hogan Park imminent, major stadium improvement plans, new structures being put in place on the administration front and the team is flying," Mooney stressed.
"However, the Limerick business community must respond to drive our success.
"This is an opportunity for us all to contribute to a football club that Limerick can be proud of.
"If any individual or company you know would like to
help Limerick out in any way, no matter how big or small, please call the Club and we will be delighted to discuss it further."
Limerick FC have announced the opening of a new information and ticketline on 061-702070.
Season tickets for the remainder of the 2006 season are now available from the ticketline at �125.
The Club website www.limerickfc.ie will go 'live' in the next fortnight.
The brand new club strip shall also be launched shortly.
