roll on stuttgart..... fair play to who ever originally posted details about the german site on this forum in first place.
Just rang that number and was told that they could not sell the tickets too me even though they took the money off my credit card!!! If i give London address will they post them there do you think!!!!

My order status first said, paid, then it said dispatched, and now saying sent, but when i rang today she told me that she could not sell tickets to Irish supporters. Has this happened to anyone else and did you get tickets.

casso, its looks like that unless tickets were booked about 2 weeks ago, then they've been cancelled. The same happened to me..order received...paid...dispatched, but no tickets received. Best thing you could do now is try and get them sent to a German address, or at least an address on the continent. Oh, and make sure they fully refund your credit card!!

Foot.ie and it's resourcful posters will feature on Skynews Ireland this evening at 6:30pm or if not today then definitely tomorrow's edition in relation to Ireland fans purchasing tickets from eventim for the game and this thread gets some coverage.

Thanks to Tuff Paddy and peadar for setting it up.

Roughly translated it says thank you for your order which will be despatched today for next day delivery by (Deutsche Post) German Post Office.
    Final Update:

The two further tickets ordered last Thursday were delivered this morning to the german address. I would suggest that anyone trying to bu8y re-registered on eventim and uses a german or continental ship to bill to address as this method definitely works.

Incidentally, eventim state a maximum of 8 tickets per household but I've now had ten sent to the same address using the same account, details and credit card (3v voucher).

Not sure its such a good idea going public to advertise 'how clever we were' beating the German system. Hope it doesnt backfire and they then cancel sales of tickets.

Also, there is a possibility if Germany win WC they will change the venue to a bigger stadium to allow more of their own fans the opportunity to see their team, in which there will be no f**k ups in respect of tickets on their part.

doubt very much they could switch venue. thousands of Irish have already bought flights etc for stuttgart. also, doubt the people of stuttgart would be too impressed if it was to be moved after buying tickets.

My status on eventim says sent, it's been like that for the last week, bought the tickets last monday week, phoned them yesterday, was told that I wasn't getting the tickets and my cc would be refunded, no tickets yet, no refund yet either, going to give them a bell again tomorrow. Hopfully tickets are sitting in a dhl place (I wish).

If Germany win the world cup, us getting tickets will be harder then it is at the mo (if that's possible)

On the subject of moving the match to a bigger ground if they win the WC. Can't see that happening considering every hotel in Stuttgart is booked out, and all of us have, or should have our flights booked to go to Stuttgart by now.
It's not actually winning that counts, it's playing the game with attitude

It's unlikely to backfire - firstly the stadium is effectively sold out and any tickets they have or are about to cancel are those who used Irisih addresses. (It was suggested very early that this was not a good idea and that ppl should try use a German or continental address in both the ship to bill to fields during the registration process). Secondly, under EU Distance selling legislation they cannot cancel tickets that have been dispatched and are in the hands of the original purchaser.

As for moving to a larger Stadium should they win the World Cup would at this stage be nigh on impossible as they have already nominated the game venue and confirmed it with FIFA, UEFA and the FAI although they were not obliged to do so until 60 days before the event takes place. Can you not foresee the amount of flak and possible litigation they, the German FA, would face from Stuttgart tourism, the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium owners, Stuugart hotels and bars, Airlines and travel agents not to mention the many thousands of fans both german and irish who have made plans and paid for airline tickets, hotels etc.

It took the hoteliers a few weeks to cop on that their reservations for that weeknd were unusually large and so prices were not at a premium. try book a room in the city and see how high the rates are for basic accomodation in 2 star establishments.

I have heard through another source that the German FA are livid but they only reacted in the paast week when they noticed ticket sales were ahead of sales expectations. Eventim may have got it in the neck but consumer legislation in Europe is very tight and I cannot see them even attempting to move the game away from Stuttgart

I think you will find they have up to 60 days before the game to confirm the venue by which time they will know if they are in the WC final or not. Venues have been changed before. If they think there is a 'security' risk because of fears about segregation you can be sure UEFA will give them dispensation to do whatever they think is best.

They will not give a fiddlers about Irish fans and booked flights/hotels!

Quick thanks to those who put original post up for tickets. I ordered four through the UK last week and no problem, arrived in a day and a half. Anyone wants a hand getting tickets let me know.

Also hotels in Cardiff are taking bookings for next years game, some great ones available right beside the ground for Stg£116 at the moment.

I think we're panicing a little bit here, realisticly how many ireland fans could have got tickets in the 10 or so days it took to sell out?

The german FA are prob more pee'd off at the fact that we got around them after they said there would not be a repeat of the france game. Also if they are a little concerned its maybe more to do with them thinking that we'd be just like ingerland fans!!

They have already picked a smaller ground in stuttgart for the fear of having too many of us in home areas at a bigger ground and their plan didnt work.

I doubt very much that they will move grounds, regardless of the numbers we take we'll be bringing a huge influx of income to the area for the weekend, they might not be happy but we'll be keeping some people in jobs for a while to come.

There was no bother with the French FA and they kinda copped on before the game what was going on, the game went off without incident and everyone had a great time.

    Roll on september!!!

My original order to be shipped to my Dublin address was cancelled, but the re-order I did using the same credit card to be sent to Belgium worked. Just use an alternate e-mail address and put your credit card billing address as the UK as well, even if it actually isn't.

    A few points.

    1) Technically the could cancel the tickets sent to Ireland as they stated they were for German fans and not for Irish fans. It would be battle under EU legislation. Realistically there won't do this.

    2) There will be plenty of scare stories - Irish fans won't get in. don't travel to Stuttgart. Of course this is PR bull**** like checking the name son tickets for this world cup but some people will fall for it.

    3) The German FA were caught on the hop as were the German fans. It won't be another Paris but we'll have a significant portion of the home end. They are still focussed on the World Cup.

    4) The game was fixed for Stutgart because the president of the German FA is from Stuttgart and promised to bring the first game there. It won't be moved.

    5) Hats off to all who got tickets

All the above is bang on. I'm still waiting for 5 more tickets, got about 50 (all spoken for) emailed them and said they were for my German boss and if they wanted they could send them to his home address in germany but they would have to refund me the additional carriage! Threatened to sue if they dont deliver as they said not for irish fans, they didnt say not for delivery to ireland and i quoted contract law, as they took my money, the tickets were now legally mine. Not very hopeul but you never know.

Finally I think everyone who got tickets owes Junior a pint for finding the site.. (if i remember correct his was the original post giving the web address - mind you he wont be the germans guest of honour!!)
