I wonder what the relocation thing means. If this story is true then the added finances could allow Shelbourne to attempt to build their own ground again.

The article seems to suggest the only reason the Di Stefano thing fell through was because he blabbered early to the press.

Makes you wonder who these alleged new investors could be. I wonder if it's sentimental or are they looking for some guarantees. I've also heard the Donnellys don't fund the club anymore and that's where the drying up of funds come from. Could this just be plugging a gap?

The Di Stephano thing fell through because there was nothing to it. I wouldn't weigh to heavily on that point in the article

It's funny the insinuations they can put through on a sloppily written article, the Tallaght thing too.

Byrne is doing a good job with the media. They seem to have never gotten wind of the wage problem and are actually reporting a positive story at the same time. Byrne is reminding me more and more of David Murray.

Get a hold of yourself. First of all, it's an announcement saying he expects, not that he guarantees and that's if you even trust him. As RTID pointed out, the announcement of this appears to be at an interesting time.

Secondly, you've already assembled the most talented and largeest squad in eL history and you can see it doesn't guarantee you anything. We'll continue to remain unseeded in the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds for some time. This added money can't push the quality of the squad much further unless you're going to start bringing in foreign players.

Jolly, in the history of the CL only two teams have ever made it from the first round of qualifying to the group stage, one of them being Liverpool. It's gonna take us ages to get seeding in the latter rounds and to start in them.
