i dont understand how so many people on this thread cannot seem to see the difference between drogheda united football club, and the drogheda independent newspaper.
the newspaper was critical of hogan park, as it has done on many occasions of united park. in the replay report it is scathing in its criticism of the drogheda players mainly due to its readership being more interested in the drogheda players, than being comforted by saying that limerick are a fine side, though this has been mentioned on both the drogs website and the supporters message board.

I've been to Rathbane a good few times actually. Been to United Park as well. They are both Kips! But at least Limerick fans dont pretend otherwise.

of course its a kip - but then so are pretty much all grounds in the country, inclusing tolka, turners cross etc.
granted our new stadium will be, by all accounts, amazing. whenever it appears is another story...

couldn't find a comment/thread then to back up your original quip![]()
Whatever about it's lack of magnanimity there is, sadly, little in that Drogheda Indo article that could be challenged for factual accuracy in relation to Hogan Park.
It does raise a spectre in relation to what happens if we get promoted next season. Is there any plan B? Would the Munster Branch be amenable to letting us play at Thomond Park for a season maybe? Will TP be under development by then? Has anybody asked them -even put it to them hypothetically?

god that place was a kip is it still the same since 95ish hehe
if they stayed in hogan park instead of going to other homes in limerick it just might have been developed now.people said it was a white elephent, its nearly centre of limerick now and lots of room for improvmentOriginally Posted by Lionel Ritchie
