Well in 1985 the sun stopped Shining on June 3 in Ireland and didn't emerge from the clouds again until September 20th. Be grateful for small mercies

LOL, not true.....................it shone on Sat 3rd August 'til Monday 5th August (Wexford) and definitely on Sat 10th August (Dublin) while on Sat 31st Aug (Dublin) the morning was very sunny but heavy rain in the afternoon but brightened up in the evening.

And only Hurricane Charlie prevented 1986 from being even worse. That was in August !

Saturday 3rd August 1985 was a day of sunny spells and thundery showers, Sunday 4th August 1985 was a day of torrential rain and thunder while Monday 5th August 1985 was a day of thundery showers and sunny spells. Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd July 1985 and Friday 28th June and Saturday 29th June 1985 were nice enough days. Still that summer was absolute muck!!

    Famous Bad Summers

    1985, 1986, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004.

    The worst of them were 1985, 1986, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2000, 2002.

Anyone with different or same opinions?

When you see Irish people in Florida in shorts, sandals and socks!
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

Don't forget the plaid lime green sports jacket and cap on a cool day.

1988 doesn't belong in that bracket cause a) it was warm and b) it was sunny off and on the problem was you couldn't get 2-3 days in a row that were sunny. And we played in Euro '88 , maybe it's cause I was in Germany for most of June that I didn't mind it so much!

The best summer weather that year coincided with Euro '88!!

2003 was a deadly summer and this one looks like it's going to be class as well.
