Wasn't at the game but the guys advanced 2-0 with The Gaffer and the Louisburgh Lion netting. Was told that it wasn't a classic.

    superleague team of the year

TB.I see 4 wesport players made the inaugural team of the year. but how can you explain that one of them is a B player and got man of the match in the Touhy cup final this season ?

Didn't the clubs nominate their squads? The player in question is not a designated A player so he could move between A and B.

apparently it was his first and only game for the B team, shades of trying to crack a nut with a sledgehammer. Once again proof of the blatant abuse of the B team ruling. never thought that the wesport club were just trophy hunters. Shame

Player in question played numerous games for the B team.

It might help if you knew your subject before you post. For your information, same player, David Horkan, is on a full soccer scholarship with NUIG, therefore has no option but to fulfil all collegiate and domestic league and cup requirements with NUIG before registering with Westport. As the Mayo season starts well before the Galway season finishes, it is not possible for him to be registered as an A player. Hope that clarifies the matter. And by the way, Westport United are not trophy grabbers. If that was the case, maybe we'd be signing players from all over the place.

    Touch a nerve?

No nerves here. Just pointed out the salient facts that tore your very petty argument to shreds. That's all. Night, night.

What are you talking about, of course he can sign A. It just makes no sense to do this when 16 players are already signed A.

Well done to the U.14s on their penalty shootout win in Roscommon on Saturday. Heard that the keeper had a great game.

Foot.ie! Westport United 2-2 Castlebar Celtic

Came back from the dead with the gaffer getting a brace. Nice to see Austin O'Malley, Keith Ruddy and Tomas McGing getting a run out. The linesman on the Kop side of the ground was like Bakhmarov, three times, awarding goals that crept over the line and cleared away. Geoff Hurst would have been happy!! Wasn't a bad game for the half a team.

By the ways, get well soon to Seamus Higgins after his injury against Glenhest on Sunday morning.

No it is not THAT Austin O'Malley that plays bogball for Mayo. This Austin O'Malley is noted for boxing and he is not a bad centre half. He was voted man of the match on the Connaught Telegraph this week.

Did the bizz: 2-0 with the Louisburgh Lion getting a brace. Kinda lucky and defended well.

Lotto now worth €14,100. Cracking jackpot just before Christmas.

Hard luck to the U.12s after losing 2-1 to Swinford. Youse can put your feet up for the winter.

Heatmerchant FC in Athlone on Sunday to get our Connacht Cup campaign on the road to end a 20 year famine. Anyone know anything about them?
