Westport were all over Ballina but didnt score, that cant be taken as an excuse.
The result aside Ballina are a far weaker side than last year and will drop points in the coming weeks. They were poor on sunday.
We should look back at all this at the end of the season.
Look what happened to them last year, and they were a good side under the Nic.
There is a long way to go in the league yet.
Your first team just managed to beat the Westport B Team last night.

Lads, since ive been goin to football matches a lot of people have got it in for stevie,if you dont know him, then dont judge him. Most of you only see the negative side...One mistimed tackle here or there. What about all the positive things he brings to the game of soccer.I know stevie and ill be very honest hes a great footballer that brings an awful lot to the mayo league.....
Celtic-westport game tonight will have a huge impact on where title ends up! A win for either side would be a massive result! All super league eyes will be on the outcome this fixture, with snugboro and ballina no doubt hoping for a draw. Should be good game!
Any predictions??![]()
exactly if you don't know the lad don't judge him. you only know him from being on the pitch, are you saying all the westport players that are hated on the pitch are the same off the pitch?? on the pitch players would do anythin for their team to win and give it loads of heart, if he meant the tackle he would have said he did. and believe me he didn't so can ya just get over it?? c'mon lads it's bad when thats the only thing ye can say about the game!!! leave it out!!

Goals from Cam, Lovejoy and Louisburgh Lion gave us our first win over Celtic in the league in three yearsand it was an important victory for us. We were delighted with the result and we will not settle for that. We will go all out and retain the league and on our day, we are good enough to retain it.
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!
I have to say that the B team gave a great account of themselves in Celtic Park on Thursday evening in their 1-0 loss in the cup.
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!

There is some upcoming activity to raise funds for the Umbro Galway Cup, that the Westport United U.14 team will be partaking in. There is a table quiz in Blousers on Thursday night at 9:30 with entry at €20 per table. Also, there is a barbecue and disco in The Quays pub on Saturday 19th at 9:30pm. Tickets are on sale at €10. Please show your support.

A good game of football on sat but the officials were shocking, Phil Keegans goal was a goal, and the penalty that Celtic was awarded was not a penalty. The opposition got literally all the decisions, the offsides were terrible, and I think everyone will agree with me on this. No one got booked, only KC was sent off. I wonder why?

[quote=threefivetwo;970117] dessie o malley is a woman, afraid of his life of sean reilly, sean had him in his pocket all night, played ye twice already and bet ye twice. looking forward to your reply xx
As i predicted dessie answered by getting the winner saturday night.
REILLY MUST HAVE A BIG HOLE IN HIS POCKET as dessie slipped out for the winner.Leveller is right the officials spent the whole match looking at the sideline instead of the match. The penalty was shoulder to shoulder,
stevie ryan should get danny fadians no. as he nearly caused another serious injury, there is nothing hard about going in over the ball on a keeper. When he was hit himself he was wailing like a school girl.
Celtic are a poor side with rugby tactics ie. boot for ground, win a throw in get deccie flynn up, long throw in and fight for the scraps, puke soccer.
Westport showed great discipline and spirit to win this match with soccer as it should be played up against 14 men.
14 men, will u get real!! Celtic lad was clearly in a goalscoring position when he was brought down with a shoulder into his back, goal was at his mercy so a red card could easily have been given! (if referee hadnt left them at home)
Ye should also stop goin on bout d.o malley as if he is some world beater! He's a good super league striker...no more! He was a substitute on saturday for gods sake, only came on at half time, so was twice as fresh as anyone on the pitchHe, like his teammates, didnt have a fairly tough game on thurs nite either, unlike all the celtic team! This was evident in celtics play, started to tire in 2nd half. Overall wport just about deserved win on the night!
