I didn't listen to the interview as couldn't care less. Rico will get wrap on the knuckles & promise not to do it again as just in the heat of the moment. Other managers have come put with worse in the past & nothing happened to them. Roddy Collins was punched by Ollie Byrne & nothing happened...
Overall the fai rules are not strict enough to enforce any fine although i;m sure if its reasonable Rico would accept it & not drag into the courts like others.

.Richardson may face action over outburst
Emmet Malone Soccer correspondent
Cork City manager Damien Richardson faces possible disciplinary action by the Eircom League after launching an emotional attack on Merrion Square administrators and Ian Stokes, the referee who oversaw his side's defeat by Longford Town in the FAI Cup on Friday night.
Speaking after the game at Flancare Park, Richardson expressed dismay that Stokes, an official he had already criticised this season, had been given the cup tie at short notice after the withdrawal of Dave McKeon.
The Dublin official infuriated the City boss with his handling of the game, not least for the penalty he awarded Longford late on for an alleged trip by goalkeeper Michael Devine on Dave Mooney.
Longford equalised from the spot kick and went on to win the game while Devine faces a suspension after being sent off as a result of the incident. Television replays subsequently showed that the referee had been mistaken in penalising the goalkeeper as no contact had been made with the striker.
Richardson is likely to receive a substantial fine from the league for his post-match comments which included allegations of incompetence against veteran Merrion Square officials and a clear suggestion that the club was being targeted for unfavourable treatment because of his previous comments
Some people seem to think he should be hanged at dawn and fed to the lions ..... its sad reallyOriginally Posted by pete

Ah boo hoo
God
he has accused senor league officals of trying to effect the game with the appointment of Stokes to the Cork City cup match (at short notice), in a Dublin based bias against Cork City and he is not going to take it any longer.
Once all the babbling is cut out, this is the core of his message.
It will be interesting to see the leagues reaction to such an accusation.

That was hilarious
He makes a great point about Dan Connor. Murphy deserved his suspensions but Connor gets a one match ban?
Why could you not care less Pete? Your manager is standing up against what he believes is an anti-Cork agenda from Dublin. I imagine all Cork fans would be very interested in how Rico is putting it up to the powers that be. It's pretty big news in fairness.Originally Posted by pete

Well he has certainly got ye all talking.
I think he's playing the press and trying to keep fans on side by creating an "us versus them" situation, when there could be justified call for unrest amongst supporters. We could certainly have done with at least a replay, not having a home game for 5 weeks isn't good financially.
Was away on hols last week and missed both the Derry and Longford games but the points about a weaker squad and things not being good are certainly valid. But sure we've had bad times before, we'll get through them despite the obstacles Dublin place in our way

It seems to me that the main obstacle Dublin has put in Corks way this year is Damien Richardson.Originally Posted by razor

When your team is playing badly its hard not to feel like getting no luck.
Roy O'Donovan got 3 match ban in the Setanta Cup for attempted retaliation (2 match ban might have been fairly but not too many gripes from city fans as stupid retaliation). Dan Connor punches Denis Behan & gets red card & 1 match ban so he returns for the final & makes 2 crucial saves. Unlucky or unfair?
You could say no tv cameras in Unted Park but does this mean teams on tv treated differently?
If they have the TV footage of course they should use it. Are you saying they shouldn't?

lets get away from this excuse making bla bla bla, whats fair or not fair, simply fact is that Ricardson has intimated publically that he believes that the powers that be, assigned that ref to the match to somehow effect the result against Cork City.
Now he must prove this allegation and lets face it, its a serious one - if he is right then football needs to undergo the italian style enquiry.

Just wondering, why was there no cameras at that?Originally Posted by pete

Drogheda usually have 2 or 3 cameras at their home games.
Do me a favour, SHUT UP! Boo hoo we are the real capital and Dublin hates us so much. If there is a Dublin conspiracy then you better believe it will hit us and Drogs in the same way it will CCFC. To be honest this is the arrogance manifesting itself as paranoia, just accept you aren't as good as last year.Originally Posted by Razor
i think this is a shrewd move once again from Rico, despite being very unprofessional it will mean that Stokes will be wary of decisions when refereeing Cork matches in the future.
