Correct me if I'm wrong (and obviously you'd know better than me!), but if your club is in debt, doesn't licencing require you not to make a loss? Or are you covered by directors loans?

And didn't you get a licence a few years back on the grounds that you were building a new stadium?

Exactly. We're moving the entire university. The average IQ of people living in Dublin's expected to drop by at least five points.

    It's quite simple really:
bigger support => bigger gate receipts + higher sponsorship revenues = More money => ability to sign better players => better performance on the field

In the long run, the clubs with the bigger support bases will have more success. If clubs with a small fan base are doing better it is because either (a) they are over-performing in revenue generation or in performances on the field or both or (b) clubs with the larger fan-bases are under-performing in revenue generation or on the field or both.

There is the third possibility, that a club is over-spending, betting the club's future in the hope that short-term success will come and build a fan-base that can support the spending. However, my understanding is that club licensing should prevent this from happening in the future.

So the FAI shouldn't have to meddle with the divisions as time will make the decisions for them

Given the history of financial mismanagement in this league, I think I know which.

However, my understanding is that club licensing should prevent this from happening in the future.
That assumes the FAI's implimenting it properly.

The FAI wants to hand pick the divisions next year. There's a vote some time during the summer.

The game was rescheduled due to our players' international commitments after we'd bought tickets for the Heineken Cup final. Also we were inspecting the Millennium stadium as it will be the initial design for our new ground.

Remember, you'll have to factor in the fact that it was full of langers before you make your decision. We wouldn't want to reject it out of hand.

Sure, but we can only aspire to match the genius of the likes of Cox and Preece.

the debate that UCD and Dublin City bring nothing to the league is getting old and stale at this stage. i personally love going out to UCD; nice people, good atmosphere and we always win and dublin city is the same. dont think ive ever come across a UCD or Dublin City fan who wasnt a nice person. cant say that for a lot of other EL teams, my own included

Hold on! Aren't UCD in Leinster?

It puzzles me that you would shell out to watch a rival team in a different country and miss a UCD game in Dublin.

So are you gonna be supporting Cork against Longford on Friday? Are you gonna go down and support Limerick against the Drogs?

UCD is in Leinster but not everyone in UCD is from Leinster. In any case, we never considered UCD Soccer and Munster Rugby to be big rivals.

I bought the ticket before the Leinster-Munster semi-final and I'm not going to let the money spent on travel go to waste. I hadn't expected the match to be moved to the Monday, assumed it would be rescheduled for well in the future. I can live with missing two games in the first 11, especially as it doesn't sound like I missed much.

I understand that he's been to three Munster games this season; two against Leinster and the Final, so that makes him a bigger Munster fan than most of the poor genuine fans who can't get tickets for the big games.
