    RTError News

watching the news there and they had Dublin and UCD as a First Division game on the screen.
To make it worse the so called sports presenter didnt even have the knowledge to correct it.......
But have we come to expect any different from this shambles of a channel?

Maybe RTE got their info from the FAI? Prediction for next season... Suppose we can only hope.

Probably should be a first division match. Maybe they were predicting next years fixtures.

    Crowd

Did they say anything about arriving early to avoid the big crowd?

Heard the live update on the radio at 8 and the reporter, Paul Butner I think, said it was smallest crowd he'd ever seen at a Premier Division game in 30 years going!

It was on unison.ie and a few other websites (Google alerts let me know this!) as a first division fixture for the last day or two.

What else can you expect anyways?

150 at the game. Dunno if that's the smallest in 30 years or whether he just wanted to believe.

Not that it's anything to be proud of, but I saw fewer at our Premier Division games against Waterford (c. 80) and Cork (approx .120) in 2004.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.

    beg to differ.

Many sources say less than 100!

You could also get a brief view on el weekly tonight and less than 100 seems perfect.

The league doesn't need either of these teams.

They will never know unless you tell them ..... it would take the same effort as you did to post it on here aswell.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Another excuse to bash UCD and Dublin City by the so called big boys. Tough we are in the premier Division on merit because some of our so-called Rural powerhouse clubs haven't got their act together. When football ceases to be a meritocracy and people get invited into elite Leagues on the basis of Location , the League will turn into something akin to Estate Agency and real football will lose it's appeal.

To use a GAA Analogy.....You don't hear people saying Leitrim should be kicked out of the All -Ireland series because you can fit the entire population into a medium sized football ground do you?

Why should it be a 1st division match ? DCFC beat Shamrock Rovers in the play-off match last season and UCD finished 9th in the premier. Both teams have EVERY right to be in the premier on merit.

This season DCFC have started extremely well and are in 5th place, ahead of clubs like Bohs, Sligo, Bray, UCD, Longford and Waterford, and they don't deserve to be in the premier ?

    Typical Cork reply

Really now, are you that silly to say what do they bring to irish football ? honestly, i did'nt think anyone could be that, well, that stupid !

What do UCD bring to Irish Football, How about current U21 internationals ?

And on an eL level, how about acting like a fcuking feeder club for most other eL sides based in Dublin ! They produce excellent players and the new crop has just started........ wonder how long it will be before the "big" clubs come sniffing for them.
