    www.thesportingglobe.com

    Hey guys,

    www.thesportingglobe.com

Check out this website I did as a college project. I’m no technological whiz-kid so I accept the lay-out is pretty basic and stuff, but any feedback, comments etc….would be greatly appreciated. Also if anybody fancies writing stories or has ideas for stories then please share!!!

As you can see from the content I’m sort of going for a “sporting onion” style website, although probably with a larger slice of nonsense.

Anyway it is quite bare at the moment - but hopefully with some help I can make it better.

    Cheers
    Sean

    Agreed. Otherwise quite good.

If you intend to keep this going, I'd add two features: a regular update - I should be able to tell when this content will be updated without any effort; and an option to subscribe to an Onion-style email update.

I'd also look to get as many contributors as you can - it's very tough to be regularly funny. Once you're established, promote like hell.

Thanks John for taking the time to have a look at the site and leaving some comments.

I accept that the colours need to be toned down, it actually looks ok on my own monitor but after seeing it one some other screens I accept it can come across a bit sickly.

The update/email ideas are very helpful too - just have to figure out how to do them, as I said the tech side is not my strong point!!!!

As for more contributors - that is something I’m definitely looking for. All those stories were done in a three week rush job, but hopefully if I can get some other creative people interested in the site and they might submit stories or ideas - so if there are any comedians out there get in touch!!!!!
