Little Creatures or Stop Making Sense. My advice would be to buy a CD of Little Creatures, and the DVD of Stop Making Sense. Definitely one of the best music videos I've ever seen.

    But not from Amazon.

any of the first four are excellent with remain in light being my pick. all recently re-released and re-mastered i believe. and word about amazon:

you might also like the very very good stop making sense concert movie which starts with byrne on accoustic guitar alone and adds more and more band members/instruments until it all becomes a sweaty pulsing rave-up by the gig's end.

also recently re-released is byrne's amazing collaboration with brian eno 'my life in the bush of ghosts' - an incredible record with samples/loops (including a real excorcism) that sounds hugely influential and modern by today's standards. great band, enjoy!

Totally concur. You won't go wrong with the other recommendations either though.

I agree with the boss. Top quality dvd. The version of Psycho Killer on it is brilliant.

Stop Making Sense is a timeless classic. Little Creatures is excellent too.

I had the pleasure of seeing David Byrne perform at last year's Galway Arts Festival and he had a band with him consisting of about a dozen musicians. They played many Talking Head songs including extended versions of Psycho Killer and Burning Down The House. Brilliant!

The early stuff is definitely the best.
But Stop making sense would get my vote for the live versions of Life During Wartime and Once in a Lifetime.
Think my favourite album is 77 but for somebody who wants to buy a single album then go for The name of this band is Talking Heads - one of the complilation albums - all the good stuff on it.
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

musta been one of the top five shows i ever went to, beautiful theatre in boston, front row balcony seats. byrne and his band were unreal, he played some stuff off his latest at that time (even attempted some opera) and the heads stuff was incredible!
