    Liverpool win FA Cup

What a game, great goals by Gerrard and Konchesky. Pool win 3-1 on penalties.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Outstanding spectacle. One of the most enthralling matches I've ever seen. No matter what anyone says about Steven Gerrard, you just can't take away from him. I'd put him ahead of Keane and Viera as the best midfielder to play in the Premiership.

    Gerrard

Here's certainly up there with the best, isn't he? It shows what a subjective judgement that is because I still have Keane down for that particular accolade by a short head. Still, opinions are like arseholes; everyone has one...

And in my opinion, my Man of The Match was Sissoko. He was everywhere in extra-time. Gerrard not moving, Cisse not moving and Morientes on the pitch, Sissoko did enough running and tackles won and passes completed to cover for all four of them. Not a bead of sweat at the end either and looked like he wanted to run another 120 and that's after 63 matches.

He faded in extra-time but he was outstanding during the 90 minutes. Some of the long passes he played were top drawer. I don't think there are too many players that could score a goal like his second one. It wasn't a fluke either. He's made a habit of scoring long-range goals. The lad is something else.
BTW, I'm not a Liverpool fan.

Gerrard better than Keane and Viera ?? Mother of god , what have you been drinking mate , your havin a laugh arent ya .

Fact is liverpool have won two trophies without winning the game.

Liverpool showed they are still nothing but a cup team (who win on penalties)

Liverpool have been part of 2 of the best games in cup competitions in recent years , won them both but failed to convince anybody that they actually deserved the wins .

Liverpool could only beat Chelsea and Manu in cup competitions .

Liverpool think they are better than they are and believe their own hype .
Grest game , but West Ham were far the better team .

Yes, We have a laugh at posts like that.

How long was it since you won the league last year? Jaysus, 50 years, wasn't it?? Centuries of waiting, in Liverpool terms.

We only won the CL by scoring 3 goals in one half, beating the English and Italian champions over two legs, and coming from 3 down to win the final. Nah, didn't deserve it, did we??

We only won the FA Cup, by putting out full-strength teams in every round, by beating the teams who finished above us in the league, by walloping a Prem side 7-0 too, (when have Chelsea done that??) and by coming back twice to win the final. Nah, didn't deserve it, did we??

West Ham were as usual, outplayed by superior opposition in the final. We scored 3 classic goals, they scored from 3 of our mistakes. 2 other chances apart, we bossed the game, had all the chances, and scored our penalties. We did deserve to win it actually.

The above quote is why your club has an image problem. Jealousy gets you nowhere.

Have 2 agree here. 2 great goals, but f*** all else. He does the spectacular, but can't do the simple. Still, it wins matches, so good luck to him.

Yeah cracker. See the 10 missed passes in the first half? Thats the problem. Nobody doubts he's a great player but this ****ing idolisation of him is ridiculous. On BBC cpmmentary yesterday, after 47/48 minutes Motson said something like "Gerrard hasn't been on top form today" as soon as he scored his first he screamed about how good it was for England that Gerrard "is in such brilliant form today"

His pass for Cisse's goal was top class. I've never seen Viera or Keane supply a pass like that. His goals were top class, his second breathtaking. His workrate was phenomenal as was his drive to get Liverpool back into the game - twice. He is an outstanding player and it shows how much of an idiot Eriksson is that he doesn't give this role to Gerrard for England and drop the grossly over-rated Fat Lampard.....But he won't and that's why England will win fcuk all

I thought West Ham were game, but the goals they got were a joke. The first two were a shambles and the third was a poxy cross. On the other hand, Liverpool's three goals were superb. Everyone was saying Liverpool were lucky......Just take a look at West Hams goals again, and also Crouch's perfectly good goal which was chalked off....Yeah, Liverpool were 'lucky' alright! (Was that Gerrard who passed for Crouch's as well?!?)

I don't think anyone doesn't think he's a great player, but what gets up my goat is the gerrard **** fest they had on the bbc yesterday, way over board.

Not a word about sissoko, who was the only liverpool player getting up and down in extra time, went through twice the amount of work as gerrard, and the lad hardly gets a mention..

And your right Keane/Vieira can't make the passes Gerrard can, but you're comparing chalk and cheese, 2 different types of player totally. Gerrard is the best of his type in the premiership without a doubt.

And by all accounts, the Observer gave him a three out of ten.

Most notably is the different response by the West Ham players, fans and manager in defeat. They earned significant respect from me with that. Behaved with dignity, class and respect in defeat. Given the amount of times we've played Chel$ea, I'd forgotten that still happens. No "the better team lost" (when arguably they had good reason to), no "it was 10 against 11", no "the referee was a disgrace" or any such other bullsh!t or dramatics that our Portuguese friend gets up to after a defeat.

Great game but not really deserved...
Steven Gerrard is a world class player, marvellous
Just wonder what Pool would do without him?
