So he's been released but remains an employee? Confused.
Taken from the BBC site. Unusual to hear Kenny complaining.

Furious Cunningham attacks Bruce
Cunningham endured a difficult season with the Blues
Out-going Birmingham captain Kenny Cunningham has hit out at the club and manager Steve Bruce following their relegation from the Premiership.
Cunningham said: "Unfortunately, and I take no pleasure in saying this, the only person who must take responsibility is the manager.
"While things remain the same, the fans and players will never experience the kind of success they deserve.
"Birmingham has no heartbeat and, more worryingly, no soul."
The club have expressed their disappointment at Cunningham's comments.
A statement on their website said: "The club is currently experiencing an extremely sensitive period, yet Kenny, who remains an employee, has chosen to publicly express his views through the media - without seeking prior permission or consultation, and not directly to any member of the board, despite limitless opportunities to do so.
"As a player that has now been released, Kenny Cunningham has no knowledge of the club's financial position or the ambitions and plans in place to achieve success."

Yes confusing all right. Sutton also released.

Apparently Cunningham is very well respected in Birmingham. That statement will cause a few ripples of discontent. It seems very much out of character for him to come out with something like that - he must be well ****ed off with Bruce.

Bruce should be saying a similar thing to Kenny because he is an absolute joke of a defender.....
Also,is it any coincidence that the 3 relegated teams all have terrible centre backs as captain.....did they honestly think they could stay up with those clowns....ie Kenny, Gary Breen and Watson
Cunningham is a class defender and I would say Bruce and Cunningham are about equal in ability as defenders in my view.

He's definitely a Brum cult hero over there...
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
Agreed. He's not the player he was, but he was the key player in Birmingham's back four for the past few years. Outside the top eight, only Everton conceded less goals than Birmingham, so The Stars is talking rubbish.Originally Posted by NeilMcD

Have just read the interview, it's a brilliant read. He has hit the relevant points in the solar plexus if the reactions of 99.9% of Birmingham fans are anything to go by. The board and management have been hit by an earthquake.
There are similarities with Keane's interview but this one takes it to another level without the discord, whining about other team members. The article examplifies everything positive that Kenny is about, intelligent, articulate, precise, professional.
I had thought that Kenny was too nice a guy to be a good manager. I think we will be following his career for a long time to come
Eh, Steve Watson played very few games for the Baggies at centre-half. The normal centre-half pairing was Neil Clement and Curtis Davies. And he wasn't captain.Originally Posted by The Stars
Incidentally, Davies is by far the best young English centre-half around. Expect to see him at Arsenal next season.
