Turning into a very convenient excuse. Their squad size is totally within the control of Cork. Plenty of money available to sign new players, decent size gates, some good European runs and League and Setanta money.

If Lennox and Richardson had any cop on they would have a decent sized squad, capable of dealing with the odd injury, suspension and Danny Murphy's increasing repetoire of hand to hand combat.
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

Have to agree with Celdrog here. Some Cork fans were going on about how hectic their fixture schedule was last year, with Europe, Setanta and the FAI Cup thrown on top of the league campaign. If the Cork board and management had any cop on they would have realised at the end of last season, that this one would be the same...so why didn't they prepare accordingly? Instead of bolstering the squad they trimmed it FFS . Was it naievity or stupidity? Thats an honest question by the way. If I was Cork fan I'd be seriously pist off about it.

Cork fans complaining about their swuad size would be like a Waterford fan saying they are in trouble because they have crap players. It's not as if the team are hit by injuries or some other occurance outside their control.

Its not an excuse, its a reality. We have a small squad and have no else to blame but ourselves. However that still doesn't detract from the fact no one gives a **** about the league cup and its the last thing we need is more games in a rubbish competiton. Should have played our entire reserve team bar O' Flynn.

Well Rico obviously cares about it playing practically his strongest side (bar a couple of players) against the might of First Division side Cobh at home!

The League Cup having the golden tickets of a setanta cup place, and this should make clubs give a ***t about it!

when you finish outside the top 2 this season, you might well want to think back on what winning the League Cup could've done for you next season

To be honest I don't think we'll finish in the top 2 this season - reckon it'll be shels and derry - but I think we'll finish above cork.

    But ignore my other points

It was clear the players couldn't care less about the game and I couldn't care less either about losing, even to Cobh. My problem with it was playing the first team guys when they probably didn't even want to play and we could have blooded the younger guys. Not a big deal though, we're going through a terrible patch of form and still clinging to 3rd. Monday will tell an awful lot about where this season is going for us and even Shels.

This thread is a perfect example of the arrogance of Cork fans in the last two seasons. Soko in particular, you seem ok with the fact that your players couldn't care about losing. I would be furious if City players didn't make an effort for paying punters.

Stop bull****ting, you lost against inferior opposition with an almost full strength team and all is not right in the People's Republic TM. Simple as....

I'm not okay with it or the general malaise shown against Pats. Its just that I couldn't give a **** about the league cup or any other city fans. Simple as.....

Monday is our biggest game of the year to date so forgive me for not caring about a rubbsih competiton which I never have had much time for bar when we were in the doldrums. We've got shels coming up and if we don't play well there I'll be a bit more concerned.

Its not "simple as" actually and I dont think your in a position to judge if there is something wrong being 400 miles away,we can judge our team fine ourselves down here

3rd in the league 2 points off the top playing poorly, already played in 1 major final this year, our first player ever to be called into the Irish senior squad, champions League to look forward to and current league champions.....were in a bad state alright

I think you argument is complete cráp !!

I'd say no matter what was said you wouldn't agree, and its getting kind petty and childish at this stage. Celdrog too ... why are you worried about what City are doing or saying ? Leave it off and get on with supporting your own team. The obsession is taking you over fella .... move on, get closure !!

As usual ego takes priority over logical debate. I knew when Cork were knocked out that the competition would be slated and Cork fans would have a lax attitude. If you hold the LC in such low esteem then why did you pay into the match? Cork are not the behemoth of Irish football that you claim and cannot afford to ignore "lesser competitions" given their lack of squad depth and no attacking edge which will see them finish IMO outside the top 2.

Do you all still hate Shelbourne because it would appear you are slowly turning into Ollie's troops - thug players - Murphy, cheats - George, sore losers - spitting at ref after SC final

Just out of interest, many of the Rebel Army (registered trademark) making the trip next Saturday?

Come out of the clouds, you'll hurt yourself ..... ego?? in my post? I questioned why there were incessant posts about City from certain quarters and its now ego on my part and got nothing to do with other people obsession, come off the stage now fella.

I knew when Cork were knocked out that the competition would be slated and Cork fans would have a lax attitude.
Who slated the competition and are we the only club to have a lax attitude to LC?? ..... i think you'll the answer is no ..... and why you ask? ..... because its the League Cup !! come on man .... work it out for yourself like.

If you hold the LC in such low esteem then why did you pay into the match?
Man, you'd criticise if we stayed at home aswell .... there is no winning with you !!

Cork are not the behemoth of Irish football that you claim
I have never claimed that ........ but i do think it ;-)

Fine .... thats your opinion, you are totally entitled to it ..... every single bit of it and let no one tell you otherwise !!

Do you all still hate Shelbourne because it would appear you are slowly turning into Ollie's troops - thug players - Murphy, cheats - George, sore losers - spitting at ref after SC final
    I hates Shelbourne ... they're the worse-est club ever !!
And let the club without sin cast the first stone

Just out of interest, many of the Rebel Army (registered trademark) making the trip next Saturday?
Dunno ... i cant go anyway.

Apparantely it's on next friday, radio one during half time of whatever game they're covering. I've a bad feeling that even though it's officially an open draw we'll see the eight teams drawn in geographical order!

Fair enough Face, we'll agree to disagree. Hope I am priviliged enough to be allowed to have a pint with a Cork man next Saturday before the match. I can only aspire to be allowed in such great people's company.
