Looks like it'll be this season. As far as I can see, we've currently played...
798 league games (including 4 play-off games)
66 FAI Cup games (including 19 replays)
76 League Cup games
2 Super Cup games
4 European games
which adds up to 946 in total, plus Leinster Senior Cup games (about 30, seeing as we've won it three times) and First Division Shield games (maybe another 15?) We could even have made the mark at the end of last season.
Overall record from those 946 games (excluding LSC and First Division Shield) -
P 946
W 314
D 272
L 360
F 1116
A 1170
Ciarán Kavanagh has played 342 games, which means he's played in more than one of every three UCD games in our senior history!!! Tony Mac on 298 plus a few League Cup and LSC games, isn't far behind and an ever-present 2006 (touch wood touch wood) will probably see him overtake Kav at the top of the appearances list.

We're not arrogant, we're just better.
Any idea when this will be?
If we're counting LSC and First Division Shield I reckon we've already surpassed it.
I think pineapple's erred on the conservative side with the latter competition (possibly the first time he has ever given a conservative estimate) and even if he hasn't adding his rough totals to our current number of games played this season brings us over the 1,000 mark.
Personally I will consider the 1,000 league games mark to be far more significant. That should come within the next 7 seasons (including the current one).

Some man for the stats Pineapple!![]()
In fairness, got a lot of help from CTID as well...
Pineapple as regards the LSC it's going to be a tall order compiling the stats.
We made the semi finals in 1896/1897, then didn't participate for decades. Not sure how many. As regards since 1979 it would be possible to piece something together over the close season.
LSC record since 1979 in overview
Beaten finalists 1983/84, 1984/85
Beaten Semi-finalists 1985/86
Winners 1980/81; 1994/95;1995/96
Would you count the Collingwood Cup and the IFA Intermediate Cup? We were in them in the 1910s.
There's a clue in the name.Originally Posted by DmanDmythDledge
