All I know is hamish
They currently play in the same Leinster Senior League Division as the UCD Intermediate team. But if you leave it with me I will see what I can find out.
Amigos - I've been fascinated for years about the club. I've asked blokes in the AUL in the past about them and couldn't find out much TBH. Couldn't find anything in Google Ireland except fixtures with their name.
The've been around for ages and play in the LSL, I think.
With a name like that, I always figured that, originally, some members of the Irish Communist Party founded the club.![]()
Anyone know anything about them?? Where are they based? Have they a ground? Is the "Commie name" just a coincidence or what?
Maybe CTID, Superhoops might know.

Jeez CTID - don't go to any trouble. It's just curiousity on my part. I DID see something about UCD and Spartak now that you mention it but nothing solid. There's a connection with UCD? I thought that would be clubs like Pegasus and so on??? Why aren't the called UCD as well?? I think Spartak have being going since the 60s or 70s. Now that you mention a student connection, did some wag dream up the title as a kind of joke on Communist club names.Originally Posted by CollegeTillIDie

However, I'd love it if there was a Commie party connection. It would fit in beautifully - just like that third club in Madrid that sometimes reaches the Primera Liga - Valencens or some name like that. See, there I go again, another time I would remember that Madrid club name.
I have such a poxy memory.
How do you remember all those facts/stories/information about music and football- your recall is awesome. I get the odd flashback on football and music too but most times, these recollections just shimmer and fade away........faaaaaaaaade away.........like the etheral mists on a Beeslow bog.
LOL
