    Limerick Top Of The League

    ---------------------
    TUESDAY APRIL 25
    EIRCOM LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION
    Kilkenny City 0-1 Limerick FC
    Purcell 57

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    EIRCOM LEAGUE 2/2
    Kilkenny City 0
    Limerick FC 1
    ---------------------
    Sloppy defending cost Kilkenny City
dear as Limerick FC went to the summit
of the eircom League First Division
after a 1-0 win at Buckley Park.

Limerick broke the deadlock after 57
minutes when Paddy Purcell latched on
to a Colin Heffernan corner and rifled
the ball into the roof of the City net.

The Cats clawed their way back into the
game with Conor Buckley and Brian King
Brian Buckley going close, but Limerick
    held on.

Always get hammered in Terryland it's like a tradition

But then what would a Galway soccer club fan know about tradition

Are you sure?? Could you really live with yourself having all that blood on your hands after hundreds, possibly thousands are "done" on their way to and from the game??

    Bodies indeed

Is it just me or does that look like a blast from the past? It seems like a league table from the early 80s (before the premier division came in).

Ya just take Galway United out of there and replace them with someone with a bit of tradition

There might be hope of a Munster derby next year yet.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

    Second time you've said that.
It's that resentment and bitterness towards Galway that appears to be commom from some reason among Limerick fans.
    Rivals to yee crowd?

"Tradition". 12 years in the 1st is it?
Hopefuly both of us can challenge Rovers this year. However i wouldn't get carried away.....yee got off to a flyer last year aswell if i recall correctly.Yee were nothing special in Terryland at all....either were UTD nor or Rovers are Dundalk.Copy of paste and last year.....it's up to some team to take it and win it.

I was shocked and appaled by how long it took one of ye to cop on to it (especially with your obsession with the Limerick forum )

Think it's about 12 years ya can't remember exactly..... Ya I suppose it's nothing like your "clubs" illustrious history

I (and as you said I'm by know means the only Limerick fan) stand by my hatred of the Galway soccer franchise. In these changing times for the league the attitude of your franchise and a large portion of its fans stinks to be honest..

And besides as SLK once said to me your big town is nothing more than an over-rated tourist $hit-trap

I could go into more details about what pi$$es me off about your ground, players etc but to keep complaining would be to give you some recognition as a football club instead of the soccer franchise that ye are showing yourselves to be

I like Galway United (Galway I am not too mad about - but no problems with the team). But that just be me.

One thing that should be noted about whether we looked great or not in Terryland is that it was our first game of the season - this was pointed but missed by Galway fans before. Their own first game was hardly Barcelona-esque.

i was at dat game & i don't really think there was much between the two sides(lester hit da bar&heffo made a cupla savage runs into sa box) apart from fitness and i knew after that game that limerick would be decent this year once ye got goin
