Potentially better for Irish football this way anyway.
Good to see Sheridan in European action at least. Win-win, i think.
Really tense finish, but it wasn't to be.

Better chance of UCD qualifying for Europe now; UEFA Youth League. We need Legia to reach the groups again and also to win the underage league (they're in the semis now)
Ok, it'd be a tiny benefit, but realistically so would Sheridan in the CL.
I think Stu's looking out for the UCD under-age team: http://foot.ie/threads/217098-League...=1#post1921108
Not inconceivable there's a future international in there too. Be good experience for them. Boyle and Sammon started the same way
Goals from today's game:
Sheridan played a significant part in the build-up to Jagiellonia's second goal.
Kind of messed up the pass! Poznan's second goal was class.
Jagiellonia play away in Georgia on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League first qualifying round tie against Dinamo Batumi. Kick-off is at 17:00 (Irish time).
Meanwhile, I came across this brief Polish article on Sheridan which seems to suggest that, due to his exploits and rising popularity in Poland over the latter half of last season, he's now recognised in Ireland more by Poles living here than he is by Irish people.
The following is a dodgy Google Translate-job, but you get the gist.

Reads like a quote from Paul
Sharidan played against Dinamo Batumi today. He missed a penalty, had a goal ruled out for offside and then scored Jagiellonia's winner. They won 1-0.

He should be in Ireland panel!!!!
Only came on for last ten minutes of Jagiellonia's game today, which they won 3-1. Seems to be going through a bit of a dry patch?
I think he's only scored three goals so far this season. Not quite showing the same form as he was last season, unfortunately.
Jagiellonia are in eighth position overall, which is six points off first position and just inside the top half.
interviewed in the Herald yesterday: https://www.herald.ie/sport/soccer/i...-36677468.html
Didn't realise they were top of the table
