Im sure that no matter what is in the Referees report this is going to end up before the Setanta disciplinary committee and the video evidence of what actually happened is crystal clear.

I read in one of the papers today that Murphy was actually sent off after the whistle (absolutely correctly) so presumably its down to what McKeown says in his report as to how long Murphy is banned for.

Violent conduct is generally a minimum of 3 matches but Murphy deserves a lot more than that. To punch someone as they are clearing the ball and not in a position to either see it coming or defend themselves is the lowest of the low.
I was actually refering to icemans comment about City getting banned from the setanta cup which is total nonsense,i just threw in a dig at connor because i have absolutely no respect for him, wasnt talking about anything he did on the night.

And yes i saw the incident involving Gambles sending off,not Danny, and i can only assume that the Drogheda player(Leech?) said something to him cos ive never seen Gamble react so badly to anyone before

From where I was standing the Drogheda lad should have been sent off too cos they were both squaring up to each other and i didnt see any punches thrown by Gamble, then again it was McKeon refin it so what do you expect

It was Murphy that threw the punch as the ball was being cleared, Gamble got involved in the afters, but I didn't see him throwing any punches.

Whatever about McKeown, the linesman (& Devine) deserve credit for calming it down & avoiding an ice-hockey style brawl.

Utterly tedious game. No idea how O'Callaghan missed his various close range chances in the first half. No idea how Drogheda keep winning despite putting ten men behind the ball and hardly bothering to play football at all. No idea how Drogs fans can watch that rubbish week-in-week-out - I've had it two weeks in a row now and it was too much for me. Couldn't bring myself to bother watching extra time - even left the pub so I wouldn't have to be tortured any more!
Good man pineapple stu - its obviously still festering that Doolo left UCD to go and manage a proper club. Obviously festering even more that he has started to win trophies.

As regards your assertations about the Drogs style of football, the managers of Portadown, Dungannon and Linfield (and incredibly Longford) have a diametrically opposite view to you - but hey what would they know?
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

Speaking personally my only beef with Doolo is that he didn't go two weeks earlier. Pete Mahon would have kept us up with another game or two to play with.

Which should also depict O'Brien throwing a punch for which he will also recive a lengthy ban.

Just on all the observations of what happened during and after the game. I saw a couple of incidents from Cork players and fans that really let them down.

First of all in the first half, Cork had a corner at the Ballybough end, I was watching Georgie Boy walk into the box and Bradley came up beside him to mark him, no big deal. Well that was until as Bradley walked by him, Georgie flung his elbow back and missed him by an inch. Now fair play to Bradley for just walking away as Georgie tried his cheating antics again.

Then later on when Shelly got injured for us, he was told to leave the field by the ref and was brought over to the Riverside area where all the Cork fans were. I watched in disbelief as one Cork guy, ran from half up the Riverside down to the railings and starting shouting, spitting and swinging his arm at Shelly. It took 2 stewards to take your man away.

Then there was the thuggery at the end by Murphy, and then when the people were putting up the stand, Gamble for some reason started to race over to the Drogs side like a demon

I have to say I was fed up last week with all the Cork V Drogs tripe going on, but after seeing how they take defeat then I think I'll join in!

I see the "Attack the post, not the poster" theory of debating has been lost to another muppet.

The game was tedious. So was Drogs-UCD. Both involved Drogs by and large putting ten men behind the ball and countering occasionally. From what I've heard, they've been similar enough to other Drogheda games. Simple really.

I saw that game alright. Drogs played well, but Linfield were muck. As, with respect, were the other NI teams I saw.

I'm aware you won the game against Cork. I never said it wasn't successful. I saw it was tedious.

Shelley dove, there was no foul, he smiled and did a mini jig as he was being walked off to let the CCFC fans know he's conned the ref, it was a pure wind up and some fans reacted. No one spat, though there was plenty of shouting, and it's funny how a phrase like 'swinging his arm' means something completely different to what happened 'shaking his fist, giving the finger'.

And before you start, I KNOW I was a damn sight closer to it than you and if I saw someone spit, i'd be the first to call for him to be flung out.
