The 710 was not an official figure was it ??? and I dont know the guy who counted it so cant say if it was accurate. I posted what I thought were there.

Can we keep the personal abuse out of this please (this applies to everyone, not just you higgins!). Any more and I'll bin it.
As above, 710 was what I counted; it's not precise but I'd imagine it's within 50 or so of what was there.

We're not arrogant, we're just better.
One thing to remember is that it had just started raining about 2 or 3 mins before Shels' second goal so the ball would have been a lot more slippery than it had been earlier in the game. This might have been what cought Darren out. From where I was (the opposite end of the ground) it seemed like Darren tried to catch the ball by its sides instead of putting his hands behind it, though I can't be sure.
On the crowds, I've sometimes counted them myself to verify Schumi's accuracy and generally we're an agreement to within 2 or 3 people so I would say 710 is as close to correct as you can expect from a football crowd.
Hadn't thought of that. It did take a big bounce off the pitch too.Originally Posted by Bald Student

710 is UCD's largest crowd of the season so far... FACT
Your point being...?
No, it was actually the largest crowd, there's no need for the 'FACT' at the end of that sentence.Originally Posted by CollegeTillIDie

The goal looked less bad on TV than I thought at the time. How did the ball bounce like that?![]()

If it was a fair shout then yes I would gladly accept it but if you read the post you would see there was no mistake made.

Good god, is this still going?
I was distracted at the time, misread the post in my haste, and my comment was out of order. My apologies higgins.
Now, could the mods keep this out of the damned match thread please?
You can't spell failure without FAI

Have to disagree with Fintan. Kearney obviously spotted the divot and aimed for it.
No Elvis, Beatles or the Rolling Stones

The ball bobbled on the ground when it bounced at about 6 yards out & changed direction slightly. Thats what caught him out.Originally Posted by Bald Student
