Are fish not living breathing organism theat feel pain?

I think fish not being meat is an old way around the "don't eat meat" rule.
its ridiculus....i refuse to eat fish...mainly coz its minging but also coz it has a parent. I am a real veggie!

Is the idea of not eating meat on those days not the same as the old idea of not eating meat on Friday? I.e., it's pennance, and since the flesh of fish was not seen as being as good/enjoyable as the flesh of land animals, it's OK to eat fish.Originally Posted by Neish
