Drew condemns attack on Hogan Park

Limerick FC chairman Danny Drew has described the people who carried out an arson attack on their Hogan Park ground as "mindless thugs".

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, completely gutted two of the club's vending facilities and is estimated to have caused up to €20,000 in damage.

Drew said: "What happened at our ground in the early hours of Thursday morning was the act of mindless thugs.

"We are trying to build a club here that we can all be proud of but a tiny minority of complete and utter morons are trying to drag everyone down.

"I am completely disgusted by this act and I would urge anyone that knows anything about the incident to contact the Gardaí.

"All decent people in Limerick will be disgusted by what happened here and I would also urge sports fans to come out and support us tonight when we play Finn Harps," he added.

Second place Limerick are four points adrift of eircom League First Division leaders Shamrock Rovers but have a game in hand.

Ah, in fairness, they had a wider selection of grub on offer with the chip van they had there on Friday
