    It is lovely

Couldn't give a sh!te about what they were singing at us - it happens in football unfortunately that there'll be a sizeable minority of idiots around. I don't take it personally, in fact we didn't even respond to it, I just laughed at them myself

My experience from the Linfield supporters were that they were spot on to us (bar a sizebale minority singing sectarian stuff in the ground - which persoannly i couldnt give a sh!t about, people are a bit too sensitive about it imo!!)- that'll do me!!

Really impressed with Drogs last night. As much by their attitude as anything else.

Missing their first choice keeper and O'Brien they might have tried to play it cagey but they used the big pitch to perfection and were well on top, espec in the first half.

If ye ever start scoring goals ye'll be really dangerous

Last nights performance would also suggest Drogs can look forward to the UEFA games with confidence(always thinking of the coefficient!!)

    Final should be good.

From a footballing point of view it might be better to play the final in Windsor as the big pitch would suit both teams

To be fair to him I think he was implying that people perceive Drogheda as a 'score and shut up shop' team because of a few 1-0 wins, but the truth is that if they had a top class striker they'd stuff a lot of teams in the Country. I mean how in the name of God did Fitzpatrick get MOTM? Granted he worked hard(so did the whole team) but aside from the chances he missed he continually played dire passes

What exactly is your point chief?

What are you trying to highlight or prove?

Have you anything constructive to offer Linfield Football Club by way of help in dealing with this cancer of sectarian singing?

Perhaps you could start by telling us how Derry City Football Club dealt with the small number of cavemen who besmirched the good name of your club at the recent fixture at The Oval, when singing the praises of a sectarian mass murderer?

    Cosmo,

Glad you enjoyed your visit, and the hospitality afforded to you by some true Linfield fans.

You may have been pleasantly surprised to learn than some Linfield fans are actually human beings who enjoy their football and support their club.

    Good luck in the Final.
The Englishmen came over in the year 2005
But little did they know that we'd planned a wee surprise
Sir David scored the winner, and Windsor Park went wild
And this is what we sang...

Wasn't surprised at all - I'm not a sensitve soul and listen to drama queens on websites or the media overexaggerating things - tha fact is i knew we'd get on with people up there as as far as I'm concerned I have more in common with Linfield supporters than 99% of muupets in the republic of ireland who have celtic as 'their number 1 team'

Looking forward to another trip up there - best away trip since our cup match in ballybofay about 3 years ago

well done drogheda and very best wishes for the final and the rest of the season. of the 3 eircom teams we've played this year you gave us the most trouble. krstic stop stirring things up we know we have problems but the fact that we have attended away matches in significant numbers and hosted away supporters without serious trouble indicates that we are moving forward.please remember for all your slobbering about the blues we topped a very difficult group in which you didnt quite finish in the top two.

The ten or so you referred to got a few slaps from some true City fans and were told not to come back again, or to invite their "mates" from Belfast to any more games.

    Problem solved.

    Very good.

How will you be assured that the Sean Kelly fan club won't be back again?

    .
Yes I have, throw them out.

Remember all the crying you guys did about the RUC not policing inside the Brandywell!!!
Well as I understand it ,they do police inside Windsor Park, so why don't they take any action???

Not much good having the police inside your stadium if they are going to ignore highly offensive and illegal behaviour, now is it????

As for the morons at the Oval, same thing goes for them, throw them out and ban them.

Your own fans have said that the singing comes from the same group of young in-breds everytime there's a big game, so why does your club let them come back????

If Linfield are serious about this, then it's time to evict and ban anyone who sings secatarian songs or gives racist abuse.

    Hope that helps

You are misinformed and ignorant of reality.

There is no RUC anymore. The new PSNI do not maintain a visible presence inside Windsor Park. We have Stewards who do. That is an area that the Club's Working Group will no doubt be looking at. Some of our existing Stewards have received sinister threats on many occassions when they have tried to do their job.

On Tuesday night we had approx 300 people involved in vile sectarian singing. Many of these are not very nice people, to be quite honest with you.

What do you think might have happened if the Stewards (with, or without the PSNI) had of moved in to try and evict 300 people?

What do you think would have happened if the Stewards (with,or without the help of the PSNI) had of moved in to even evict one culprit?

Once they are "threw out", how do you keep them out?

How do you know the Sean Kelly DCFC supporters Club won't be back?

Linfield Football Club are extremely serious about the problem, but will not be discussing what they propose to do on public internet forums.

Your "kick them out" simplistic waffle is easier said than done.

Err...thanks for your insight all the same.

OK, so I am right, the 'PSNI' DO police Windsor if not visibly.

The 'Sean Kelly' fan club happened in an 'Irish League' ground, that was policed by the 'PSNI'
The only sectarian singing Heard at the Brandywell recently came from.............................................. .you guessed it so called Linfield fans.

And if the stewards are too scared to address the situation (and I certainly do not for one moment blame them) then surely the Police force who 'Don't visibly police windsor should be asked by the club to address the situation.

As for my 'kick em out' simplistic waffle, how come trouble makers at other grounds can be kicked out and kept out but not at windsor????

Four cops in the car park. Not prepared for the riot that would ensue if they heavy handily went into a 300 strong crowd to eject them. Get real man.

What will we do...send in the riot squad?

What do you think would happen then?

Regardless of where it happened, how will you stop the Sean Kelly Derry City Supporters Club going to other Derry City matches?

You simply belittle a very big problem that has no quick fixes.

NO quick fixes, Sorry I didn't realise that sectarian and racist slogans were only a recent problem at Windsor, my mistake

Not Brazil, if you want to be taken seriously then stop comparing an incident where 10 scumbags got slapped for singing sectarian songs to Linfield fans singing sectarian songs at every single match they attend.

The fact of the matter is - Linfield fans are happy to allow sectarian songs to be sung home and away.
"The Derry fans were fantastic in both matches. They sang their hearts out all the time and created an even better atmosphere than the Cup Final. They were brilliant. - David Graham, Gretna striker

Can I say firstly I was one of the many Drogs who ventured up to Windsor on tuesday and I have to say there was an excellent atmosphere at the game. There was no hint of trouble and mutual respect between both sets of supporters. There were some sectarian songs but we just replied with our own football chants and I have to agree with Not Brazil that to try and stop the minority of bigots or oust them from the ground would have inflamed the situation and given the idiots what they wanted. The majority of the Linfield fans at tuesdays match are a credit to their club and instead of slagging them off for petty one upmanship I think they and every other proper football supporter should be applauded. We had a great night and credit for some of that must go to Linfield for making us very welcome, so thank you Not Brazil and all you fellow noisy passionate followers this is what football is about.
    We've only just started!
