    Plonk / Bishopstown?

    Howya,

What ever happened to your man Plonk? He was loved and hated in equal measures? He seemed progressive but there was a glint in his eye.

I remeber going to Bishopstown on 2 occassions (when the Maroon underachiervers were in the Premier Division) and I was impressed by the set up although it could never beat the Cross. Does it still exist or is there an Aldi or Lidl in its place?

Also, what happened to the Cross when City were in Bishopstown. I asume the Munster FA used it.

The Bishopstown pitch is now beside a new bypass, so it is much easier to get too. The stand looks a bit decrepit from a distance. Never been in the place. While Turners Cross has the builders in, our club shop has moved to Bishopstown, I presume at the same ground you are talking about, but I am not sure. I can't answer the other two questions.

The FAI own Bishopstown. They will be selling it in next 1-2 years. City currently use as training ground. The stant is still there but the other sides of the grounds have been penned in by roads & car park for Greyhound track.
