    U-21 Shield

Going to start a new thread for the U-21 shield. Our first game was this afternoon - lost 2-0 at home to Bray. James Hussey, Aaron McEniff, Billy-Bob, Derek Doyle and Gary Dicker were all involved from the brief bit I saw. Next game is the rearranged tie away to Athlone on Tuesday evening.

    Shamrock Rovers 0-3 Limerick
Shamrock Rovers 1-1 UCD. We equalised direct from a free-kick, according to the Rovers forum. I'll get in touch with Maccer and see who scored.

The eight above were entered in the one group. I've taken results from Aertel and from club websites (obviously neither being a particularly reliable source) and all the results I've found are listed above. So that's all I can say really! Only missing Cobh and Pat's at this stage.

Ties in with my post so. They must be gone. Happened last year - I think the competition was left unfinished!

Cork beat Rovers 3-1 and need a point from their last game - against us - to win the competition. Best we can do is beat Cork, hope Limerick lost to Athlone who in turn fail to beat Bray, and we can come second.

True, actually. Top two go through, I think. Limerick have to play Cork yet, so if only the group winners go through, we're all but out.

    Latest table -

    Code:
    Club	P	W	D	L	F	A	Pts	GD
    Lim'k	4	3	0	1	7	3	9	4
    Cork	3	3	0	0	5	1	9	4
    Bray	4	1	1	2	5	5	4	0
    UCD	3	1	1	1	2	3	4	-1
    Rovers	5	0	3	2	5	10	3	-5
    Athlone	3	0	1	2	2	4	1	-2

I know we lost to Cork(away) and Limerick 1-0(home), we beat UCD(away) 2-0 and drew 3-3 against Rovers(away), Pats game was cancelled and Athlone both postponed due to players college commitments. St. Pats have pulled out of the competition due to financial restrictions. Does that mean the match against St. Pats is counted as walkover and the opposing team get the 3 points ? or will all matches be null and void ?

Complete results and tables are correct on Dublin City Site, up to yesterday anyway.
