Athlone Town take on the might of Heatmerchants FC this Wednesday at 7:30pm in Willow Park.

Heatmerchants 0 - 5 Athlone Town

Fairly young town team, with at least four lads I went to school with taking to the field, and I'm young enough! Although they only went in 2 up at half time, they never let Heatmerchants in to the Town half of the pitch. Second half saw some more chances for Heatmerchants, but again, Town were always in control, adding three more, the last right at the death.

Although fair play to the Heatmerchants side, they showed great team spirit, so much so that one would have thought that they had 12 players on the pitch

And as for the pitch, it looked very well, especially considering all the rain lately so well done to the Willow Park grounds people.

OK well there it is, and now ye see why I don't normally write match reports!
