The end point there was interesting. Sean Thornton could do with the move to Coventry. Badly needs to restart his career while he's still in his early 20's
Hopefully Kevin will appreciate his talent and not **** it away like hi brother seems to be doing.
Always look on the bright side of life
Exactly. I think time has already run out for his brother. Some lads posted about Kevin on this board a few months ago, saying they used to play with him and that Kevin was definitely the better of the two.
I saw Sean's goal against Brentford by the way. A weak left footer from outside the box that was accurate but was about as fast as I can kick a ball with my left. If it was in a public park with no nets the ball would have stopped 10 feet past the line.
I used play with Sean and I think Kevin was 4 years younger than me at the time and before our matches Kevin used come out for the warm up and run rings around us allOriginally Posted by Stuttgart88

Apparently Kevin Thornton ran the show last night in Richard Shaws testimonial versus Celtic, I've read a few decent write ups about the guy.
Hopefully he impressed Strachan.
Tets, what did the Celtic website say? Can you post the match report? Any sign of the young Irish at Celtic in the game?
Actually, just saw this in the Daily Record:
Marshall was at fault when he allowed the ball to squirm from his grasp as Thornton chased a Hutchison pass that fell between them. The Englishman regained control and kept his composure while shooting past the stranded keeper.
I suppose you expect low standards from the Record.
And McGeady was only Irish in action for Celtic, Doyle & Thornton both figured for Coventry.

I was a little disappointed McGeady was the only Irish player on show for Celtic, and some of the comments on message boards I've seen share my sentiments that more youngsters were not given a run out in the game. However, O'Brien, O'Dea and O'Carroll were all in action for the reserves against Kilmarnock, I've posted details in the Irish Players in Britain thread
"This brought the first of two corner and in the 65th minute, City re-took the lead. Don Hutchison slipped the ball on the feet of Kevin Thornton. The young Irishman who has been offered a two year contract by City tried to push the ball past Marshall who got a touch to the ball. Thornton kept his cool, got the ball back and got it on his right where he curled it past a covering defender and into the net."
