Great post there lads. I think we dont know what others do in their spare time so making judgements on any supporters is a load of rubbish. As I said before unless someone is stopping you get tickets then I dont see the why its gets people so annoyed.

I think maybe posts/wording etc is getting mixed up but from reading through
the posts over the past few weeks, and my own personal opinion, it causes
people (and eL fans in particular) disgruntlement that people in Ireland
support foreign clubs ahead of supporting football in Ireland, whether it be eL,
LSL or training your local distrist schoolboy club.

The eL is referenced in particular as that is the league "bar stoolers" treat
    with most contempt.

If you walk into a pub where there are loads of people gathered around
watching Fulham v Middlesboro or something and someone asks who you
support. Reply, Athlone Town, for example, a lot of the time would get the
response, ah there only sh!te, the eL is sh!te, football in Ireland is sh!te,
    they're not real teams etc.

However if you reply that you are involved with Willow Park/St Francis/
AC Celtic (just a few ADSL teams) etc you are hailed as a hero for being
involved in Irish football at grass roots level. (and rightly so by the way)

The "bar stoolers" and "event junkies" are proud of Irish football roots in
the local leagues but they also expect the players to bypass the eL and
head straight to England once the turn 16, or else they are rubbish or
they're wasting their time playing in that sh!te League of Ireland.

Thats what p!sses me off anyway about the "great Irish football supporters".

I think anybody that abuses an EL supporter for suporting their team is a muppet.

Id go further anyone abusing someone for suporting anyteam is a muppet.

And the biggest muppets are the premiership loving english hating brigade, you know the ones with the utd / pool jerseys and despise the english national team...

ill stick to my country 1st, local teams 2nd and be an EL neutral who just enjoys going to various grounds to watch football etc!
